My wife bought the most beautiful dress by this boutique. Everything was on time And the prices were great. Miss roya is a professional in every aspect of this business. She tailored the dress perfectly to fit my wife’s body. I suggest this boutique over every other one in the area.

Picked up my dress today! It’s Augusta Jones Skyler, they have a special version of that which is way more wonderful than original one! They also have a lot of great dresses in store and they do perfect alteration. Customer service is wonderful. Roya and her team make you feel you great every time visiting. Will recommend to everyone who wanna get beautiful and elegant dress!

I called for a same-​day appointment, and was accommodated. Upon entering the boutique, the selection of dresses was breathtaking. Our appointment was with Roya, the owner, who helped my sister try on figure-​flattering dresses. She spent time and provided feedback on each dress my sister tried on and made the experience memorable. I definitely recommend this boutique to those who are in the market because of the variety of dresses in the average price range and excellent customer service.

It was my very first stop to look for my wedding gown, and I purchased the dress and belt and did alternation here. I started looking for my dress a few month prior to my wedding date, which is pretty late considering many brides start the dress search a year ahead. So I was looking for a dress «off the rack,» and with my small budget of less than $ 1500, the choices were very limited (at any shops).
However, thanks to Farah who helped me throughout the selection to fitting process, I could successfully find a dress I fell in love with. I had some style and fabric I wanted in mind, but she advised me to try something out of my initial criteria too, which helped me to realize what would work well on my body and style. I really liked one beautiful dress I tried at my 1^st appointment and was pretty sure that was «the one,» but I wanted to see other shops just in case as it was my very 1^st stop and felt I should check out other shops to see what were other options were. I checked out the details and moved on to other bridal salon in Alexandria/​Georgetown areas, but I found nothing close to the one from Elegance by Roya in condition (most important as I was looking for «off the rack»), design and price. Farah was right about «when you feel right in the dress, that is really the one for you. You will come back for this.» Follow your instinct, people. I only had 2 fittings — 1^st to measure the size and fitting, and the dress fitted great with the alternation at the 2^nd fitting. Farah made sure I understand how to hang the train for non-​ceremony time (dance etc.) and how to tie up the ribbon in the back (corset type) and made sure I took a good video of her showing how. On the wedding day, I got lots of compliments about the dress and felt like a million bucks.
This place is appointment-​only (no walk-​in) and has no picture policy (until you purchase). The shop itself is small, but it is filled with beautiful gowns. It’s located in the middle of Alexandria Old Town shopping area, but I never found trouble finding a parking spot near the shop on weekdays. Note that unless you want your dress «off the rack,» it takes 3 – 4 months to get the dress ordered for you. Start dress hunting early!

Roya and team were absolutely fantastic – from the moment I stepped into the door until my very last fitting. They give attention to detail and are incredibly supportive and kind. I definitely recommend this shop to any soon-​to-​be bride!

I came to Roya at the end of August in search of the perfect gown! I had just given birth to my daughter in July and was in a rush to get a dress for Oct. 2. I called and made an appointment. 30 minutes in I found the gown! She was very helpful and willing to accommodate my budget. She found a gown that was both flattering to my figure and my wallet. Literally the NICEST staff in the DMV area! I would recommend her to anyone! Thanks ladies you rocked!

Just tried to make an appointment, and it is the day before. I called and made an appointment, being flexible with my time, knowing it was the day before. After 3 hours, just before they close for the day, someone calls me and informs me that they cannot make my appointment anymore and are closing the store early. They offered me another time, during which I have to be at work. Then they offered to book me next week. I am going by myself not even intending to try on dresses, but they were completely not flexible about anything.
Haven’t even been there yet but already have a bad taste from their unprofessionalism. Will be looking elsewhere for appointments.

I was at Elegance over this past weekend and my experience left a little to be desired. The first thing that I thought was odd was that my stylist did not help me into the dresses. Every other shop I’ve been to the stylist is in the room with you, helping you get the dress on. She would hand me the dresses and seemed almost embarrassed by the fact she probably saw a little skin. I only really liked one of the dresses that I tried on at the store, my budget was pretty modest and I didn’t realize most of the dresses were totally out of my price range. When I came out in the dress the girls I brought with me ooed and ahhed and my mom went to take a picture. The stylist immediately stopped her and said it was against store policy to take pictures. Needless to say the appointment went down hill quick and it was obvious that I wouldn’t be spending my money here. My stylist was sweet but due to the no picture policy and the limited number of dresses in my price range our appointment was pretty short.
Word of advice to Elegance — allow your guests to take pictures. It is how a lot of brides decide between dresses. Most shops will also write down what dresses the bride liked the most so she can take them home and look at pictures online and so forth. Not providing dress information (I could have tried to write is down in the changing room I suppose) and not allowing pictures is a definite way to rub your customers the wrong way. People prefer to spend money with shops that make them feel comfortable and welcome.

I purchased my wedding gown and veil from Elegance by Roya. It was the 2^nd shop that I visited. Farah was my consultant and she listened to my likes and dislikes and allowed me to pull some dresses. She pulled one for me based on my preferences and it turned out to be the dress I loved.
The shop is small and intimate and never crowded since an appointment is encouraged. I’ve only ever had to share the store with one other bride, so I was given the attention I needed. I had 3 fittings with Farah and Roya and was able to pick up my dress one week before my wedding. I would strongly recommend Elegance by Roya!

Beautiful dresses! I looked at wedding gowns at a number of stores in the DC/​Alexandria area, and Roya’s dresses are incredible. I initially worked with Farah, who did a great job of pulling dresses that matched exactly what I was looking for. Although the store has gowns from a number of designers, most of my favorites were custom gowns made by Roya, the store’s owner. I returned the next day to try on my favorite gown again, and met with Roya this time. She was so kind and helpful, and I ended up deciding on one of her beautiful, custom wedding gowns that I had been eyeing the day before. Knowing that my gown is custom and one of a kind is really special, and although I have not yet completed the alterations process, my experience so far has been a great one. Thanks, Roya!

I took my lace sheath wedding dress to Roya for alterations (it was too big, too long, etc). I was worried about cutting a lace dress, but Roya’s work was impeccable. Even upon close inspection, I could not tell that the dress had been altered at all. My grandmother is a retired seamstress, so I know good work when I see it. I received many compliments and the dress photographed well.
I also love the dress selection here — including the original pieces (some of which I tried on as well). If I need a formal or custom gown in the future, I would return. Her work is impressive.
Additionally, I received excellent customer service throughout the process, so I’m genuinely shocked at some of the negative comments. Earlier in my wedding gown search (I had a long engagement), I even dropped in without an appointment, and they were very accommodating.
I highly recommend Elegance by Roya.

I struggled writing this review as I love my dress, it’s beautiful and their selection is amazing, but this really was my worst wedding vendor.
Was promised half off of alterations on my wedding dress, and this never happened, had to pay full price (450 $). Saying that you’ll give someone half off then not giving them a discount just leaves some negative feelings. Also scheduling appointments with them was a hassle. They don’t have weekend or late night alteration hours, so trying to get fitted while working is a pain. I had a totally different experience with them during the alterations process then at my first dress buying appointment. Their attitudes drastically changed (and not for the positive) once money had changed hands.
If I had to do it over again I would absolutely choose a different store for my wedding dress. Again though they had a beautiful selection, and I love my dress, it was perfect for my wedding.

Terrible customer service. They fail to document. When I mentioned that they promised me the service at no charge. They were like we have not documented the promise anywhere hence I have to pay. I had to terminate my service and they were not willing to compromise.

I felt like a princess at this beautiful bridal salon. I was never rushed, was treated with professionalism and enthusiasm, and found the perfect dress. There is ample room to try gowns on and a raised platform so you can see how you’d look on your wedding day. Their terms are clearly spelled out in their sales receipt. The review below from John G. doesn’t make any sense to me as the «fine print» he refers to isn’t «fine» at all… it’s very specific and clearly visible. I appreciate a merchant who is very clear about their sales terms. I knew when I put my 50% down on my dress that the sale was final. Thank you, Farah and Roya, for making my experience of shopping for my dream dress a lovely one. I can’t wait to do the fittings in the new year and start choosing my shoes and accessories. You’ve made this process so easy and fun!

I had the very best experience wedding dress shopping here. Previously, I had been to six other boutiques and none matched the attention and sincerity that the stylists at Roya had. I found the perfect dress that was high quality and unique. It was truly a magical experience! Thank you so much!

Great customer service. Great Dresses. They were super nice, patient, and professional. They worked well with our budget with out making us feel unwanted and poor like some places do. They had water and snacks. We are still waiting for the dress to be delivered. But so far so good.

Roya makes miracles happen!!! My dress was waaaay too small (NO I didn’t stuff my face with bridal stress cookies, but that is a story for a different day). My dress was not meant to be taken out — no seams on the side and it has pleats everywhere. She pretty much had to take it apart from the inside out, stretch fabric, add embellishments, and put it alllll back together. Uh we are talking major inches here guys. Seriously … this could have been the BIGGEST disaster!!!
If it weren’t for her technique, careful eye, patience, and care, I would be HYSTERICAL! It takes serious talent to do this and someone dedicated to her brides. If you need alterations, you must must must go to her. Do NOT take chances with that process.

If you want a special experience where you are made to feel like the beautiful bride you want to be… DON’T GO HERE!
I really wanted to like this shop. Roya seemed to be knowledgeable, but I didn’t get to experience that firsthand. The problem is they double booked me and were not equipped to handle two parties at once. I got the short end of the stick with the double booking. I had no mirror to look at the dresses I was trying on. That’s right… NO MIRROR. Also, the woman who was assisting me did not know to use clamps to fit the demo gown to my size.
My sister (who was visiting from out of town just to go dress shopping with me) thankfully made the call that even if I found the perfect dress the negative experience would overshadow that… so we left. No one even noticed or said anything.
Again, I wanted to like this shop and give them the benefit of the doubt that sometime mistakes happen… but get this… no email to apologize. No email to try to reschedule and make it up to me. Just radio silence.
There are plenty of other options in this area where the customer is made to feel special and enjoy this experience. Save yourself the time and headache… don’t go here.

Beautiful selection of dresses here but I felt hurried and stressed (even though I was the only person in the store!). Honestly I probably knew more about the dresses than the salesperson did. Store itself is nice and has some higher end designs, but it was strange that there seemed to be another lady supervising my salesperson (and by supervising us I mean blantantly watching) the whole time I was there. It was almost creepy.
However, I would give this place a try, especially if you have a particular designer they carry in mind. Just watch out for the creepy lady.
