I originally loved the thought of my preschooler going here b/c the center is bright, everything is clean, I can view my child on the web cam, and the staff is really nice. They adopt a philosophy of children«learning through play» and that’s fine but for my child, I really want to see more emphasis on writing since she’s going into kindergarten. Now, they do have these little writing books that stay at the school but all the things that come home in her folder are primarily art related. My child knew how to write her first name before entering the school and we practice these things at home, but I’d still like to see more writing since she spends the majority of her time at school. They do learn about seasons, matching sounds with letters, holidays, etc. At the end of the day, my child really likes the teacher and teacher aids but for the money they charge, I don’t think its living up to my expectations. If I had a baby though, it’d definitely be a go! Oh! Just make sure you keep copies of your child’s records. I needed the documents I first provided when entering the school in order to take to the new school and everything was lost. They could not locate my child’s personal information. They gave me the reason that since they’re all in different buildings, things may have gotten lost in the transfer. They apologized profusely but still… not good.

My son has been at Bright Start for a year now and we started him at 9 months old. We love the teachers and facility. For once, our kids are not below ground level with little light. Each classroom has ceiling to floor walls of windows letting lots of sunlight come through and they have access to the park where the kids go twice a day. The facility is clean and management is responsive and all the teachers know all the kids. It is pricey but when compared to other daycares in the area, you can’t even compare. We would not consider moving him for cheaper tuition. I can watch my son on a webcam whenever I want. They have plenty of activities that are age appropriate and welcome parents to drop by any time.

My daughter is 18 months and only recently started attending Bright Start but it’s been a great experience so far. I wish I had started her there months ago. In the short time she’s been there I have seen such a difference in her moral as well as skills, she loves it and loves her teachers. I couldn’t be happier with the location, the safety, the management and the staff. You can also login to the camera at any time you want to check in. They also encourage you to stop in throughout the day if you want. Bright Start was the best choice we could have made for our daughter and for her future.

My child is now 2 and is still at Bright Start. We love it there. The teachers and management all know my child and she loves them. We do not hesitate to recommend Bright Start to friends.

Have you checked Brightstart Daycare Center in Alexandria(Cameron Station), where we currently have our 3 year old son enrolled. Great place, teachers are great with the children and there is a web-cam always on so you can log in anytime and see your child. A big plus for us.
