The best chocolates period. We stopped by on the way to a lounge and it definitely complimented our cocktails for the night. Thanks for adding some fun to our night!

Chocolate heaven! Blüprint is a cute little chocolate shop. After enjoying a girl’s day Valentine’s Day dinner at The Pita House, my friend and I stopped by here for something sweet. I ended up choosing a box of six chocolates: More Whisky, Ginger Ginger Ginger, Grand Marnier, Praliné Banana, Salted Caramel, and a French Kiss (a special Valentine’s Day flavor). Everything I had was delicious! It’s difficult to even pick a favorite because the flavors were so intense and unique in each piece. If you’re ever in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by this shop. You won’t be disappointed. I look forward to giving and receiving these chocolates as gifts in the future and can’t wait to try some of the other flavors.

I decided to stop by after reading some wonderful reviews, since I had to pick up chocolate for my brother. Their chocolate selection is very detailed and beautifully made. The shop is also very gorgeous and welcoming. The owners are so sweet and very passionate about what they do. I ended up purchasing a variety of bars and a few boxes of individual chocolates. The selection is amazing and are delicious! The best chocolate in town and I look forward to coming back for more very soon!

My wife and I love this place. It’s on our way home from bars/​restaurants, so we stop for chocolates a lot.
Definitely the best chocolates I’ve ever had. The darks are the perfect balance of roast, bitter and sweet. I’ve only had a couple whites, but they have all been great.
The owners are great people and appear to love what they do. I would highly recommend coming here.

These chefs layer exotic flavors upon one another, inducing all of your senses, using high-​quality chocolate, hand-​made in-​house. Try it for yourself and you’ll wonder what took you so long to walk in. Seriously.

Amazing chocolate! I’ve tried a lot of different chocolate shops, and this one is by far the best I’ve ever been to! The chocolate is exceptional, very good quality, not overly sweet and with very interesting flavors. Maple Rye Whiskey, peanut butter, sugar plum (Christmas seasonal) are ridiculously good! And they do interesting stuff like single origin chocolates as well. You can buy one piece or boxes of various sizes as well as really good tea, coffee, or hot chocolate. And there is plenty of room to sit as well! And as an added bonus, the people who own/​work at the shop are so nice, that you want to come back!

Stopped in to see about Christmas gifts, ended up buying several boxes and then sitting to try some chocolates out for ourselves — a couple of snobinettes, and one each of the whiskey and port chocolates. The snobinette was my favorite (the whiskey one was excellent, the port very nice).
They have a few tables inside and also do coffee and tea. I’m already looking forward to going back.

Thank you Unilocal!I only stopped in here after reading the great reviews. Turns out they’re very, very well-​deserved. This is some seriously well-​made chocolate.
I ended up doing most of my holiday shopping here with lots of help from patient, friendly, charming Bruce. (Seriously, I was charmed). You can build custom small boxes or pick from their pre-​boxed selection (which I found were really thoughtful composed — made it really easy to grab gifts quickly). I taste-​tested a few as I built boxes — they’re impressively good. The earl grey one, for example, was really something neat. It was balanced so well; there were distinct notes of bergamot, but they weren’t overpowering and didn’t muddy or compete with the chocolate flavor.
I think this is my new go-​to place whenever I need to pick up a small gift. The chocolate is SO well-​done, and it’s great to support a small, local business. They also have coffee/​hot chocolate/​etc to go! I foresee a lot of popping in the store whenever I’m on King St; it’s just too easy to duck in and grab a latte *and* their rotating, seasonal chocolate…

I live in Old Town and this is my favorite stop for chocolate. Every time my boyfriend and I grab a bite to eat we stop at Bluprint after dinner. The creativity and care put into every chocolate is inspiring.
My favorite part of coming here is trying out the seasonal chocolates. They constantly change up their selection while maintaining the classics.
Don’t leave Old Town without stopping by!

If you’re searching for a unique, tasty gift, look no further! Buy that special someone a box of high-​end, specially selected chocolates. Flavors like cinnamon chili and seasonal apple cider will intrigue your tastebuds and leave you feeling delightfully satisfied.

First off, the shop is beautiful! The owner was so kind! And the chocolate is intoxicating. My only regret was that I didn’t purchase more! These beauties made a great gift.

I saw a sign for Maple Rye Whiskey chocolate and I had to stop in… Boy am I glad that I did! This is a wonderful boutique chocolate shop on King Street.
The co-​owner, Bruce, greeted us and spent a little bit of time providing us with a background of their store. It’s only been open since spring and Bruce and his wife, Kim run the shop. All chocolates are made on-​site (downstairs).
They have a staple set of chocolates with a rotating number of seasonal flavors (like Maple Rye Whiskey). They chocolates are all fantastic! High quality, meticulously crafted– you can tell a lot of love went in to the product.
Between the open, welcome feel of the store and the amazing chocolates I look forward to becoming a repeat customer and I’m excited to see how this place will grow and thrive.

They offer a delightful array of flavor combinations. Even the familiar provides something new — and in every case, the execution showcases both expertise and inspriration. Each creation is a taste sensation — a little bundle of joy & love.
All that said, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that a visit to Blüprint is soooo much fun! Bruce and Kim’s enthusiasm is palpable and infectious. You leave happy that the shop exists and that you were fortunate enough to find it.

Thanks to a friend, I stopped by Blüprint Chocolatiers today and instantly fell in love. From their beautiful logo design to their chocolatey works of art, there is much to adore about Blüprint.
The interior is bright and clean, with white and Tiffany blue being the primary color choices. A gorgeous display of boxes is on one wall while seats and tables occupy the other half. Straight ahead is the counter where you place your orders, a clear glass display that proudly exhibits impressive chocolates pleasing to the eyes and to the taste buds.
Everything is created onsite, either down in the production room or upstairs in the retail shop. They specialize, obviously, in chocolates especially in unique flavors but you can also indulge in espressos, coffees, teas, or drinking chocolate.
The owners, Bruce and Kim, are food scientists and therefore are very curious and meticulous in their chocolate-​making. They fuse distinctive flavors, temperature, and texture with visually appealing designs to create a well-​balanced chocolate.
Flavors include espresso, chai tea, minty mint, chili cinnamon, vanilla bean, raspberry, chamomile and honey, apricot pistachio, praline banana, and many more. They also have seasonal flavors. I was able to try the apple cider, a seasonal flavor, and it was delightful! I’ve also had the bourbon vanilla bean (infused into cream to make a creamy milk chocolate ganache and encased in 55% dark chocolate) and the More Whisky (12 year Cragganmore scotch whisky) and both are fantastic, highly recommend!
Definitely stop by Blüprint when you stroll down King Street!

Great vibrant place with a great chocolate smell that is both inviting and serene. Chocolate are confectioned in house and are made daily and with fresh ingredients. There’s a great and unique variety of chocolates for different tastes.
There is a nice guide that explains what each chocolate is made of and everything is nicely arranged. The couple, which are the owners and make the chocolates, are very customer service oriented, friendly and attentive. It has a great location on King at. Come check them out!

This bright and modern store is set in a beautiful brick row house. The kitchen is in the basement, which is visible from the street; just walk by and you are enticed in by gleaming truffles drying on racks.
All the truffles are made in house by the shop owner, who is chatty and friendly. There are unique flavors such as «dark and stormy,» which is ginger lime and not the best combo with dark chocolate, and more standard options like hazelnut, raspberry, and coffee.
The price for 1 piece is a reasonable $ 2. Especially considering they are little works of art.

I thought I was over the new wave of chocolate shops, the same transfer sheet prints applied to the top of delicately, lovingly made quality small-​batch chocolates. But this place takes it to a new level for me.
Their attention to detail is stunning and their chocolates are works of art. We talked to the owners for a long time and she comes from a flavor-​creation background. My favorite from here, Thai curry cashew (in white chocolate), is an artistic flavor journey, with a true beginning, middle and end.
They don’t use the transfers everyone else does to decorate, they have an architectural side to their chocolates and introduce intriguing structure and composition to each piece.
You can choose from already-​assembled sets of fruit-​filled chocolates, spirit flavored, amongst others, or you can go crazy and choose straight from the case.
They have café seating, a coffee bar (I’ve yet to indulge) and such a peaceful space. Neutrals accented with a soft French blue are flooded with natural light from the front and side into this adorable end unit space.
Anyway. Love! My husband and I go here for gifts, sometimes we give them to people and sometimes we keep for ourselves, just want to make sure this place sticks around! :)

What an incredible experience.
I tend to have an affinity for chocolate shops/​ice cream parlors/​bakeries/​sugar covered anything, so I had to stop in when I noticed the chocolate shop. I never would have expected to spend so long talking with the owners about everything from chocolate to their backgrounds to the latest cache of Apple devices. These two are truly my role models. They’re kind, down to Earth, intelligent people who are following what they love. The service alone is worth the trip here.
On to the chocolate… like I said, I have been to my fair share of chocolate shops, and this place is incredibly well-​priced for handcrafted chocolates, especially in this area. The chocolates are also great. You can tell the chocolate was perfectly tempered, and the owners put thought into their ingredients.
Don’t miss this place. It’s an experience that can really brighten your day.

I was really excited to check out Bluprint Chocolatiers, ever since hearing about them opening up shop in OT Alexandria. They’ve only been opened for 2 weeks, but it seems as if they’ve already become a local favorite! The place itself is so chic and so cute, with the ocean blue décor and the cocoa bean ‘logo.’ Owned by a couple, Kim and Bruce, Ms. Kim greeted us when we walked in, giving us a little background of herself and of her husband (food science & engineering), as well as the chocolates she has been working with. Flavors such as Mocha, Minty Mint, Meyer Lemon, Feuilletine, Praline Banana, Chai Tea, and Thai Curry Cashew are some of the offerings. The chocolates looked so scrumptious, all in a temperature-​controlled glass case. I purchased 12 pieces, as I was indecisive of which ones to eliminate: O There was also a ‘Seasonal Unique,’ which was a featured chocolate for the month with the cherry blossom craze, what better way to celebrate the season but with a ‘Cherry Blossom’ chocolate (creamy dark chocolate ganache with a subtle cherry blossom undertone)! Besides chocolates, the place also offers beverages and showcases some unique chocolate bars (one was from Vietnam, all packaged so beautifully). All the chocolate pieces are made on-​site downstairs, which I thought was pretty neat: D I look forward to more of their ‘Seasonal Unique’ items, as some of the flavors that were mentioned by Ms. Kim for the summer sounded yummy! :D

Seriously amazing chocolates in a beautifully decorated space. The colors are fantastic, the chocolates are what drew me in.
Met Kim, the owner, the queen of chocolates. She explained all of the chocolates to me and with her background in food science, I knew she was an expert. The custom chocolates trays (in a temperature controlled space of course) displayed incredible looking chocolates with ingredients I salivated over!
I bought four for me (will have to bike more miles in the morning) and two gift boxes. The boxes and wrapping… makes for a wonderful gift for anyone.
Only five blocks from my house: a blessing and a curse!

This beautiful chocolatier shop is an incredible addition to the local establishments on King Street, and tasty (and so beautiful) to boot.
They had kind of a quiet opening — no mayor, no photo endorsements, just a sweet little start. I popped in to take a look, and bought a few treats as gifts for some birthdays this weekend, and a beautiful, delicious mocha truffle. Just the right amount of sweet with the coffee ganache, melted in my mouth and so very good. It’s clear that heaps of care and love goes into the crafting of each handmade piece — they’re tasty but also artfully designed. Like little tasty edible art pieces.
This isn’t your neighborhood candy shop — and it’s great that Old Town provides those too. But this is a nice specialty addition to the neighborhood, and I doubt I’ll need a «gift» excuse to pop in again soon.
