Rude Boy Cookies

They were so friendly. I got my vegan choc chip cookies free because i had to wait a little while… unexpected and very appreciative. Cookies were A+!

I called a couple days ahead for a special order for a baby shower. Not only were the cookies large and incredibly delicious, they were also gorgeous. The customer service was exceptional. When I showed up to pick up the order, the parking was sparse and I had a baby in tow, so the baker walked my order out to my car. I’m a very very happy customer.

This is such a novel idea. And the execution is wonderful. You can order cookies and make it a sundae or just add milk. I had the raspberry bar and it was more wonderful than it looked. Perfect ratio of raspberry and chocolate with a shortbread base. I can guarantee I will be back for more.

I love this atmosphere. The shop owner was extremely welcoming. When I got there, some chump actually bought most of her cookies for a meeting or something so my choices were limited. Nonetheless… My friends and I got the classic chocolate chip cookie and white chocolate macadamia. These cookies are big enough to share, especially if you have screaming children! But what I liked about it was the fact that there was a display so very friendly for a visual chooser (like myself) and kids.
She has a cool milk bar with different shots of flavoring. The cookies could be warms, made into a waffle, AND/​or served with ice cream. This is a child’s paradise for sure.
The cookies taste delicious and I will most definitely come back to try their waffle with a little bit more friends to help me with the serving size!

So yummy! They have two vegan cookie options-​chocolate chip and peanut butter! So delicious. They have almond and soy milk as well but the reason for the 4 stars is only because they don’t have a vegan ice cream :(the guy and girl working tonight we’re super kind to us! I’ll definitely return if in the area.

Tasteless, dense, hunk of cookie. This was my 2^nd try and the place is «cute» but it leaves me cold. Don’t know how this place can survive. Have people in general forgotten what a quality cookie tastes like? Try the chocolate chip cookie at Great Harvest Bread at Juan Tabo and Montgomery — go early since they usually run out of them.

Great Idea, Poor execution. Went there last night for the first time (really excited by the idea of a cookie and milk bar!) Spent $ 11.50 on 2 «Scooter meals» (2 Cookies and a glass of milk) and was less than impressed by the service and product. For the same Price, I could have gone to smiths and bought cookie dough, milk, a salty snack to balance and a 40oz to keep the late night buzz going. Thanks but no thanks.

Holy Smokes this place is good! — - *Warning* Do not look at the picture too long, you will begin to salivate uncontrollably.
This place is located right across the university and appeals to all sweet lovers! When you walk in, it is small, but the smell is magnificent. The smell hits your nostrils, and you are ready to grab as many cookies as you can. I had a ice cream with cookie crumbles. The ice cream was tasty (cookies and cream) and the cookie crumbles was from a chocolate Carmel cookie.
I have to come back, writing this review is making me miss it.

Came here to check out what all the hype was about. The shop is cutely decorated and the staff was super friendly. There is ample seating but parking (given that is by UNM) is a challenge. We tried a wide variety of cookies (all in the name of trying to find a fav) and a chocolate milkshake with cookie crumbles. Our family of 5 tried: double dark chocolate, chocolate mint, peanut butter, snicker doodle, red velvet and sugar. The cookies did not meet up with the hype. They were rather dense and not soft/​chewy. They weren’t particularly sweet and the flavors of each cookie were rather mild. The non– deluxe cookies were $ 1.95 each and are HUGE. The milkshake was good but nothing to write home about. All in all we weren’t wowed. If we were nearby we might stop in again but we wouldn’t make a special trip here.

This is a great place to go for a snack or dessert. Very fun and unique establishment. We got the ice cream sandwich and it was delicious. The cookies were chewy and moist. The ice cream is not the greatest, I prefer premium ice cream. They also have milk on tap and flavor it with cool flavor a like banana, peanut butter, etc. They have a large selection of cookies and bars and change it up frequently. Rude Boy cookies even caters to those who are gluten-​free. A great cheap date or a fun place to take the family.

My 2^nd favorite desert in the whole world are cookies. Rude Boy Cookies does it right. The massive size of the cookies is not justified by the pictures people post on Unilocal.I’m glad I took a friend with me because I got the single scoop cookie sandwich, and it was enough for two or three people. The amount of ice cream between the two massive cookies is too much for one person. I love how I was able to choose two different cookies, and the flavor of ice cream. The total was over $ 6.00 but as I said before it is enough for two or three people, or if you are like me it all depends how much you love ice cream cookie sandwiches. The fat kid came out while I was at the shop, and I was very close to buying some cookies to go. I can’t wait to go back, and enjoy some different cookies next time.

Sad and disappointing! I’m a cookie fanatic and could probably eat cookies for the rest of my life if given the chance. But I couldn’t even finish my double chocolate cookie :(it tasted oddly perfumed and not fresh at all, and even the allure of chocolate couldn’t keep me going. I’ve got a weird aftertaste in my mouth.
The size of the cookie isn’t bad considering the cookies are $ 1.75, but I wish they heated them up for you. The location is cute, but unfortunately, the cookies are not great.

I was so excited to finally try Rude Boy Cookies! The excitement just turned to «it’s okay». We visited on a Friday afternoon so it wasn’t busy. The two people behind the counter were friendly. We placed our order of 4 cookies, 2 dog treats and a caramel milk.
The salted caramel cookie was just okay. The caramel was good but the cookie left a little to be desired. The red velvet cookies tasted not much like red velvet at all. The caramel milk was good. Our dogs really liked their cookies.
I really wanted to love this place but I can’t say I love it. It was a nice place to visit but I can’t say that I’d go back. It’s a great concept and I wish them all the best as I like to see local businesses succeed.

I can’t believe I have not written a review on this place, yet, it is long overdue. I have been making a point of stopping in and visiting with friends at this place because it is fun and filled with good looking and great tasting sweetness.
This place is kept spotless. My favorite is the Friday special «cookie shot». I am sad however that the cookie mold broke and I have not been in yet to see if the mold has been replaced yet. But that is ok because Rude Boy Bookie has the best other cookies too. My husbands favorite is a sugar cookie usually decorated for what ever holiday or even is going on. I on the other hand like their cookie bar or layered cookie. I have tried each one, each month, and I have never been disappointed.
The best feature is the «milk bar» where you can order your milk fresh from the tap! You really need to come in just to see this setup!
The best service that Rude Boy Cookies offers is their cookies in a tin. You can pick them up and deliver yourself, or if you have a child away at school you can have the cookies packed and shipped to your favorite student anywhere in the country! These gifts are always enjoyed and best they are helping to shop local.

So disappointed.
I wanted to like this place, and I give them kudos for even existing, and for having a cool milk bar — the only things that gave them more than one star for me.
The cookies are just not very good. The peanut butter tastes more like a sugar cookie — you can’t taste peanut butter at all. The double chocolate is okay, but it really lacks that deep, rich chocolate flavor you want from a cookie like that. The cookies are generally dry and lacking in flavor — like they are using double the flour or something.
I wanted to try the salted caramel cookie tonight, and I wish I had, I’ll probably go back for it to see if I am missing anything. But I suspect it too will be lacking in flavor and just not worth the calories.
The milk bar sounded really amazing — I was really excited to try peanut butter milk — two of my favorite things in the whole world, how could it not be frickin’ fantastic??? Except it wasn’t. At all. The peanut butter syrup is SO sweet, and again, just the barest hint of actual peanut flavor. Dramatically disappointing. I didn’t even finish it. It’s in my fridge now — I’m going to try mixing it with milk at home and see if cutting the volume makes it taste better. Fingers crossed…
I guess I should have expected the milk bummer when I asked if their strawberry milk tastes like Quik. She told me no, it’s just a simple syrup, then rolled her eyes and said, you know, no chemicals. Okay… I don’t know what makes the simple syrup taste like strawberries, or peanut butter, or whatever flavor, but who gives a crap if there are no chemicals if it tastes bad?
The setup is cute, if a little odd. They have an example of each cookie behind a sneeze guard thing, and then they bring your order from the back. Kinda weird. But the shop is cute and the people were nice.
I was also taken aback by the prices. Two cookies and two milks — for ten dollars??? Come on…
Here’s the thing — I want my double chocolate cookie to be chewy, rich and so damn chocolatey that it makes a perfect brownie seem inadequate. I want my peanut butter cookie to taste like nothing but peanut butter, in a crumbly-​moist cookie that melts in my mouth. I want all my cookies to taste more like the flavor they purport to be than flour, and I want to dream about that cookie til I can have one again.
I have heard that the guy who created Rude Boy is a great guy and very excited to have this shop doing well — and I absolutely congratulate him. But I think the only reason it’s doing so well is he has no competition, no one is showing him up, and it’s a little sad.
I strongly advise him to visit Santa Cruz, CA and go to Pacific Cookie Company. Or order some online. But having the in-​store experience would be better. PCC makes the best cookies I have ever had in my life, anywhere, any time. The peanut butter cookie there is something I will crave for the rest of my days, and it’s what I get every time I go home. Their cookies are infintely better than Rude Boy, and they are cheaper. $ 1.10 for a single cookie, $ 2.90 for two cookies plus a carton of milk (or small coffee). That is not only reasonable, but it’s a true value — excellent cookies plus good price.
Rude Boy was a good idea, but the execution is deeply flawed. It survives only because Albuquerque doesn’t know any better. No competition, so it succeeds. But is that really how you want to do well? You can do better — I hope you will.

There are days I wish I could hide the fat kid inside of me, seriously, sometimes I want to lay on the couch and eat an entire ice cream cake after eating six cheeseburgers. Oh Riley, you are disgusting, but I appreciate your love for food.
I’m pretty sure Rude Boy Cookies was designed for secret fat kids like myself. We’re secret addicts, wearing sunglasses in the drive thru’s at night, we’re the people that eat a pre-​dinner, and a post-​dinner, and the people that would transform into glorious hummingbirds feeding off of sugar water if we could.
Rude Boy Cookies has shots made of cookies. MADE OF COOKIES. which you can put a variety of different flavors of milk into (seriously, flavored milk), but don’t just limit yourself to those soft, chewy, crunchy, perfect textured cookies, WHY NOT ADD SOME ICE CREAM TO IT! Oh, and they can see right through you, so after you eat six cookies why not wash it down with a milk shake? Yeah, that’s right, a milk shake after cookies.
The best part, they’re open super late, and you get to order cookies out of a freakin’ window like the sugar addict you are!

Rude Boy’s… How do I start this? Hmmmm…
I guess I could tell you that I love your cookies, shakes, milk, cookies… heck, let’s just say all of it. I’ve had most of the menu, and I’m impressed every time. It’s been delicious, and fun…
My first experience was last year, and it was the «Nutter butter» (I don’t think that was the name, but it’s close.)
It was two, count them, two peanut butter cookies with cinnamon marshmallow, and chocolate mashed between them, and it was just short of orgasmic… and the best part is I’m not a fan of marshmallow. It was perfect though… light and fluffy with an almost whipped consistency, and it won me over from the start.
Since then I’ve popped in at least once a month to have some of their fantastic offerings, and each time I walk into those bright surroundings I find something to like even more than the last time. Maybe it’s the modern but retro décor that houses a the throwback style bar which serves milk. Maybe it’s the ska playing in the background… My favorite is when I get to listen to The Specials while I’m in line, or enjoying my wonderfully crafted milkshake. Maybe it’s just the fact that it’s Rude Boy and they have many unique creations, or maybe it’s that they know what they’re doing.
Rude Boy’s is a place I’ve come to like more and more with every go, and from me that’s saying a lot. I try to only give my inner fat kid treats on occasion, but with Rude Boy’s those treats have been a lot more frequent. Keep at it, and thank you for doing you, Rude Boy.

Dear Rude Boy Cookies, how much do I love thee? Let me count the ways…
1. Your retro yet modern feel of the interior décor. Like a hip malt shoppe. The clean lines and modern graphics. I like how you play peek-​a-​boo with the cut out views of the kitchen. I see what you did there. You are small but mighty.
2. What a concept: a milk bar in the hippest part of town. I would expect this in like Iowa or Ohio, but no Im in Albuquerque. And you cater to those that may not be able to process cow milk by having soy and almond milk. I, nay, America thanks you.
427. You make custom cookies by order for events or companies. And some cookies you make come Gluten Free.
And finally 1,997,621 (Count? I went to publik skool). You’re cookies. You can’t eat just one. No, literally I dont think you can eat one in a single sitting. Probably not humanly possible. I split the Buckeye cookie (read chocolate and peanut butter) with a friend and I still took half of a half home. I like how you change up your menu so I can try something different every time.
If you have a sweet tooth or just need a glass of flavored milk to strengthen those bones stop by this place. It’s coming up big and I predict will be the talk of the town for a while.

It was easy to decide how to make Christmas gift bags for my husband’s staff. I just went to Rude Boy, grabbed a couple of dozen cookies, put two cookies in each bag bag, with some festive yogurt colored pretzels and a candy cane… and voila! instant Christmas cheer! Hubby took them to work yesterday morning, and by lunch, he came in all smiles and said «Everyone loves the cookies! I’ve really stumped for them too, everyone knows now that Rude Boy is the best!» Seeing him happy, made me happy. I won’t even get into how many I hid so I could have a stash of my own…

My ode to Rude Boy Cookies, to the tune of «Prison of Love» by Hepcat:

Lesser-​known fact about moi: Ska music saved my life. Early 90’s, I went to a Dead Milkmen concert at First Avenue in Minneapolis and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones opened the show. I’d never heard of ‘em. Five minutes in, I was hooked. There was a huge gathering of Gutter Punks in the house, a few of whom I knew, they came for the ‘Tones. Suddenly I was like, «What is this music?» My friends told me to check out The Specials. Within a week I became a ska convert, ranking and skanking with abandon. The music infused my rather mundane high school life with an energy that nothing, save perhaps James Brown, would match in my lifetime. I loved the roots of it. Dancehall. Jamaica. The precursor to reggae, Ska embraced racial unity, that was the message.
Rude Boy Cookies embodies the soul of the music, both an ode to the majesty of the genre and an absolutely phat fucking cookie. So often, businesses craft their character on a particular niche, be it biker bar or punk rock clothier, but the product doesn’t measure up to that which inspired it. Here you’re getting a sweet hybrid, no booze, no Vespas, just a great cookie haven to drown your sweet tooth. My kid loved her citrus vanilla sugar varietal; I absolutely chomped on a mint chocolate and 2 Tone (love the name) ice cream sandwich. The milk bar (yep, milk on tap!) offers flavored syrups from Joliesse Chocolates, and they’re shaken, not stirred, yummy! Check out how late these guys are open, stoner: midnight Thurs-​Sat.
