Masood has been in the tailoring industry since he was ten years old with his family, and is continuing the tradition with his business here in Albuquerque.

Masood is an alumnus of Manzano High School and the University of New Mexico, holding a degree in Economics and Business.

I have been going to Final Stitch for the past 2.5 years and have never been disappointed. I had a regular seamstress out in Rio Rancho that I had been using for many years, but after I moved out to the NE Heights, I couldn’t bear the drive to Rio anymore. I have taken Final Stitch everything from dresses and shirts to winter coats, work clothes, my graduation gown, a comforter, curtains, just about everything you can think of… and when my fiancé and I get married, I am sure I will be taking in my wedding dress.
Masood at Final Stitch is amazing, and if you support this wonderful local business, I am sure you will see him at the front counter. His customer service is friendly, professional, and impeccable, and he is one of reasons why I keep going back, in addition to their quality work. Although I have never had any issues at Final Stitch, I think it would be a huge loss to you as a potential customer to overlook this great business on the basis of a couple of negative reviews (among the sea of positive reviews). As someone who used to work in the service industry (and still do, but now in the healthcare/​hospital setting), I believe it is truly impossible to please everyone all of the time; mistakes can happen, as we are all human and not infallible. However, Masood and his employees at Final Stitch do the best possible work they can, and I think their overall track record with their customers proves this point. Personally, I can’t imagine going to any other tailoring shop ever since I discovered Final Stitch, and I suggest you check it out, too, if you’re looking for a good place to take your stuff!

I needed alterations performed and stopped in on Unilocal reviews because I’m not local. I found the professionalism to be top notch here, as well as their work. They provided a quote after the fitting, and the garments were ready on time. They were also very accommodating when I said I wanted to pick them up early if possible. People have commented on cost. They basically deconstructed and reconstructed three garments for me to look as new. You know the old saying — you get what you pay for in life. My clothing fits just as I want now. I’m

I took my wedding dress here after a friend recommended them. My dress was ready on time and done correctly the first time. I know friends who have taken dresses elsewhere and gotten their alterations cheaper but there always seem to be complications– not done ready or on time. Final Stitch was great, more expensive but no complications.

Two weeks before my wedding I came in with my perfect dress. I had already taken it somewhere else, and I was worried it was ruined because they had done such a poor job. Masood was calm and reassuring and confident that he could fix the damage that had been done. I picked it up today and it is perfect. He did a wonderful job! I will never go anywhere else again!

I am at a loss as to how this won best of the city. Alterations were not on time, and the work quality was not particularly impressive. Broken high quality metal zipper was replaced with a cheap black plastic one. Unfortunately, the lack of timeliness doesn’t seem to be just me either, since many of the other reviews indicate that work is not completed on time.

I went to final stitch after reading the reviews here on Unilocal.I took my wedding dress in to be altered about one month before my wedding. Masood was very friendly and helpful with suggestions for how best to alter the dress. He originally told me my dress would be ready in two weeks. When I went on the scheduled day to pick it up, he told me it wasn’t ready and needed another week. While I was ok with this, it would have been nice to get a phone call instead of waiting until I came in. The alterations came out exactly how I wanted but during my reception the bustle on the dress broke. I’m not sure if it was operator error or weak stitching but I feel it should have lasted longer. Overall I was pleased with the work and will be back for other alteration needs.

My now husband ending up purchasing his tux for our wedding and took it in to have it altered. Masood did a fantastic job on his tux and it fit him well in all the right places. So when I got my wedding dress and had heard horror stories about in-​house alterations at bridal shops, it was a natural fit to take the dress to Masood. I gave him about 4 weeks which seemed to be enough. Before heading over, I called to double check and make sure it was something he could do in the time frame. The dress did seem to take him a little longer because on the day I was supposed to pick it up, he gave me a phone call to let me know if would be done the next day instead. I would rather he have the extra day and get it perfect! Which he did! My dress fit like a dream and I wouldn’t have wanted anything else. Ladies, don’t be thrown off my all the suits in the store. He does an amazing job with wedding dresses too!

I brought my very simple (white cotton) wedding dress to Final Stitch based off of positive Unilocal reviews. The process of dropping off the dress was very smooth. I tried on the dress and the alterations needed were noted. It was relatively expensive but it was my wedding dress so that didn’t phase me too much. When I dropped it off I was given a receipt with the pick-​up date (which was approximately 3 weeks later). Due to the fact that I was traveling around the pick up date I came to pick up the dress a week after the ‘completion’ date.
When I arrived and gave my ticket to the owner he looked for the dress and couldn’t find it. After telling him it was a white dress he said, «oh, is it a wedding dress?» I confirmed that yes it was and he said that there had been a mix up and that it hadn’t been completed yet. I was told to come pick it up in 4 days. I didn’t throw a fit but did express my dissatisfaction with the dress being nearly two weeks late from the promised date.
When I picked up the dress the work was good (which is why there are 2 stars) but no apology was offered, nor did they offer a discount due to the inconvenience.
Due to the fact that Final Stitch had realized the mistake prior to me coming to pick up the dress they should have called me to inform me of the new pick up date. I live in the South Valley and had driven over 15 miles to go pick it up only to find out that it wasn’t completed yet. I didn’t feel like Final Stitch understood the inconvenience, nor did they care. Although the work was good I can not recommend Final Stitch, unfortunately.

Whenever I move somewhere new I always dread needing to find a new tailor. I’m short with short arms and legs so everything has to be altered… The Final Stitch is AWESOME!!! Seriously, one of the best tailors I’ve been to. Straight forward, quick, and honest — I had a pair of pants they recommended I just exchange instead of charging me a ton to make them work. They’ve got my business while I live here!

Very poor experience. I took my wedding dress to Final stitch after reading positive reviews. I took my dress to him 4 weeks before the date of my wedding. I wanted it taken in at the hips and bust but because the dress had a lot of lace detailing, he said he wouldn’t be able to do it in time for my wedding. He would only be able to take it in at the bust and waist. I was unhappy but I figured it was better than nothing. We were required to pay him in advance so we did, and he was very expensive; much more expensive than what I was expecting to pay. A few days later (4, to be exact), I found another seamstress that said she could do the job by the date of my wedding. So I called Final Stitch to ask if they had started on the dress, which they hadn’t. And I explained to him that I understood he was too busy to do what I wanted, so i just wanted to pick it up from him and take it to someone else. He was very rude to me at this point in the conversation and said that he would only refund me 50% of what I had paid him. 50%!!! I was so angry. He hadn’t even started working on the dress and I still had to pay a ridiculous amount just to get my dress back. Do not go to this man if you don’t want to be robbed.

I went here a few years ago to get a suit tailored for a wedding (I was a groomsmen) and had it scheduled for pickup on a specific date before my flight. It was not ready because he said he was too busy with another groups tailoring and did a lousy last minute tailoring on my suit. Disappointed from what is a highly rated place.

As a movie director living here in Albuquerque I have to attend a couple of movie premieres or special events a year and this is the only place in Albuquerque I trust. This guy knows what he is doing and his customer service is the best Iv come across in a long time. Dont waste your time with other shops, trust me I learned the hard way. Go to this shop!

Due to my unusually short legs, I have to get all my pants hemmed. I have some loyalty to another shop, but Final Stitch is much closer to where I work. He does great work with a FAST turnaround and a fair price. Recently, I had him take up a pair of pants and then decided I needed them shorter, and he did a free do-​over even though it was my mistake, not his. I thought that was really nice.

Masood and his staff saved my wedding dress in the final hour! I had had my David’s Bridal dress altered in-​house on Menaul, and was very unsatisfied with the results. In a panic, with less than a week before my wedding, I took my dress to Masood, who immediately was able to point out the «problem areas» with the dress– too small at the waist and hips, too large in the bust, problems with darting, etc. The fact that he could so quickly assess what had been done wrong put me at ease. He assured me he would be able to fix it, and not to worry. Well, I still worried, but within three business days, my dress had been fixed, and when I tried it on, it fit PERFECTLY. THANK YOU, Masood and Final Stitch, for saving my wedding dress at a moment’s notice!

Take your alterations here! They are amazing!
Masood took an experience that began as a nightmare and turned it around 100%. I purchased my Amsale wedding dress at a sample sale and it had some minor issues. First and foremost, it was filthy so I figured I’d have it cleaned first so we could see what we were working with. The cleaner destroyed it. I mean straight up mangled. The top at the neckline was ripped all the way across, the skirt shrank, the stiffness of the bodice was gone completely. Wow.
I’m not one to be dramatic, so I thought I’d take it to Masood to see what could be done. Not only did he fix the neckline, but salvaged the shrunken skirt with an amazing hemline, fixed two destroyed zippers and made a beautiful bustle to boot! I couldn’t be more happy.
The price is high, but the quality of the work and service is totally worth it. Final Stitch will be the only place I take anything for alterations from now on!
