Love the simpleness of this place. Lots of options & they were very accommodating for my gluten free friend who was with me. I had the pear way to heaven crêpe & it was delicious! Also came with a lovely little salad on the side. Great place for quiet reading or spot to meet a friend at.

Amazing place, staff, and prices. I was so surprised it was not busy in the morning. The egg and cheese on their homemade croissant with siracha aioli was absolutely delicious. Great latte as well.

Love LOVE Love this place! Excellent choice of crepes and great lattes. I had the Monte Cristo and she had the Pear Way to Heaven… Both were delicious! This is now my place for that«treat» when a celebration calls for one :))

Love this place. The owner is super nice every time we come in. The breakfast burrito is the best in town. Get it with bacon. Try the rainforest crunch French press coffee. Even if you don’t normally like Cannoli’s you’ll love their cannoli filling!

This place is awesome! Excellent crepes and coffee. I had The Pearl crêpe. It was full of delicious ham and Swiss cheese. The side of potatoes were also excellent. So good! I also enjoyed a delicious buttery croissant. Great coffee with bold flavor. Definitely a fan. I love the atmosphere. Great music, nice big windows, plenty of seating. It’s just a cozy place to enjoy a meal. The owner and staff are very pleasant as well. This is a great addition to the neighborhood and worth a visit no matter where you live in the capital district.

Service was pretty kind, and the crêpe itself was well done, however I’m 99% sure they just microwaved frozen berries and threw them In this delicious crêpe and that mixed with the lack luster ambiance and paper plate/plastic silverware pretty much assures me i wont be back. They didn’t even have sugar in the raw for my tea or coffee. bleached sugar or honey? I know I’m a bit of a knit picker but this place doesn’t deserve to have«french» in its name.

We stopped here for lunch when we were heading into Albany to go to the State Museum for the afternoon with the grandparents and kids. It was a great choice! We ordered the Duke ham and pulled pork pressed sandwich, a Tuscan chicken crêpe with pesto and mozzarella, and chicken salad on a baguette. We also got the Simpleton ham and cheese for kids. Each meal arrived, and we were impressed by the large portion sizes; however, in just a few bites you quickly know it’s big because it is so good, and you will eat all of it. Yum yum yum! Everything was delicious: the baguette was perfect — crispy and chewy but not tough, the side salad with the crêpe was just right, and even the kids’ ham was real, thick cut ham. The staff was friendly and helpful. The café itself is cute and has a great big windows with a nice view even in downtown with outdoor seating. We’ll be back, and I’ll try one of the sweet crepes, but I’ll probably order the chicken salad baguette or Tuscan crêpe again, too, because it was that good.

I had the pear way to heaven and it was delicious! It came with breakfast potatoes that were equally yummy. And of course I had to try one of their red velvet mini cupcakes for dessert. There are lots of great options available, and I will be back to try more. If you’re in the downtown Albany area I highly recommend this place for breakfast or lunch.

I’ve been here a few times and can honestly say my favorite lunch item is their chicken salad. They boast they have the best chicken salad and they are not wrong! The shop itself is small and most of the time quiet. Today it’s a bit busy but still comfortable. They always seem to have jazz playing, which is relaxing. Good for small groups or just to grab a quick bite to eat. Not only do they have a variety of crepes, they have lunch sandwiches and even breakfast items. Oh and the dessert. Their items always look soooo good. Most of the time they have carrot cake and brownies. Don’t forget the chocolate covered espresso beans! All in all, I haven’t been disappointed eating here. The only reason it is 4 stars is because of the wait time. I’ve waited 20 minutes, on a slow day, for a sandwich. No bueno. Other than that, I love it.

I am so delighted to have a creperie in Albany. It was a lovely experience — tasty food, friendly staff, adorable atmosphere with some nice 1940s big band/jazz playing. It was pretty quiet when I went so I’d recommend going with another person — it also would be really nice to bring a book and sit a while. I’m looking forward to trying their baguette sandwiches next! One tiny criticism — they put so much effort into creating a pretty classy café ambiance, but then use paper plates and plastic ware. The crêpes deserve real plates and utensils at least. I hope they change this soon, it undermined the overall atmosphere.

Tucked away across the street from The Palace theatre, this place is a coffee/crêpe/croissant haven. I stopped in for a croissant because the pictures looked so fluffy and delicious. I was not disappointed. The croissant was perfectly buttery and bready(not really too flaky, but it worked) and a great companion for my coffee. I also had the dark chocolate s’mores brownie… It’s like sitting by the campfire minus the fire hazard. It was amazingly soft, chocolatey and moist with the occasional chewy marshmallow and crunchy graham cracker for added fun! I ate some the same day and saved the rest for the day after and it preserved extremely well, still as moist and delicious! Huge bonus when you want to ration out the heavenly sweetness. They also had a Heath bar crunch brownie which also looked amazing. This is a great addition to pearl street, I love the interior which is very inviting and cozy. The location right on the corner across from the theatre is nice too. Wish they were open on Sunday’s!

Got the French Roast French press coffee. I have to say that it was very good. We had the«Palace» crêpe with Nutella, banana, powdered sugar, and whipped cream. It was good. Also had a bacon egg and cheese croissant. Very fresh.

A bit underwhelming. I had the pear, brie and prosciutto crêpe, flavors were good but the crêpe was a bit greasier than expected. Ambience was pleasant with plenty of sitting available, and service was prompt. My main disappointment is that they served the crepes on paper plates and gave plastic utensils. I’m pretty sure there’s a good reason for that, but it does take the experience down a notch. I really think that as a brunch-y place their clientele evaluates the overall experience, and having plates and silverware would make this place stand out.

Decided to come here for my birthday breakfast this morning and we were not disappointed. It’s really pretty inside and the staff is very friendly. We ordered a breakfast sandwich on a croissant, bacon Mac and cheese quiche and The Nutoli crêpe. We loved the croissant and the ham that was on it. Very good. The quiche was really good but I personally wouldn’t order that flavor a second time. I think Mac and cheese is awesome and something you try once in quiche but not an every day order for me. If you haven’t tried it yet though give it a go! The crêpe we had was awesome. I wanted something with Cannoli filling but my husband wanted something with Nutella and alas our crêpe we found had both! That’s a win! It had plenty of filling in it and was super good with the fruit served on the side(choice of salad and potatoes too if you wish). I liked everything about this place and the food. My only suggestion to the owners is when folks are dining in real cups plates and silverware would be great. It’s just so wasteful to give out plastic silverware especially. But other than that I think we will come here again and again. Something special happening here. Great addition to the albany food scene.

I’ve now been here four times and every thing is great. The crepes are stellar, the staff are really nice. Particular favorite is the Monte Cristo. I’m going to have to get the Tuscan next time though because my friend got it and it’s amazing. Pearway to Heaven and The Duque are also delicious. Coffee in a french press is really strong but not bitter, I’m very tempted to buy one for myself.

Admittedly this review is higher than the experience I had here on a very busy Saturday. I’m giving stars on quality of the food, because the service was probably more likely a three. This is by no means anyone’s fault. It was a busy Saturday right before the matinée of Chicago at the Palace and the table besides us kept ordering crepes and overwhelmed the small kitchen. I wouldn’t advise going here if you are in a rush. Or if you are looking for a place to get coffee and read. There is no sound dampeners and it gets loud, and it does so fast. Especially with multiple families. Ok, so the good. First, my iced latte was very good. Perfectly balanced with espresso and cream. Secondly, I was pleasantly surprised that my breakfast burrito was gigantic and the ham used was cut fresh off the bone and was not a cold cut. Seriously, it had about 4 eggs in it and maybe a half pound of breakfast potatoes. Third, filling and delicious crepes. We had one with peanut butter and apples. Surprisingly it wasn’t too sweet. I’d probably order for pick up instead in the future.

I don’t normally eat restaurant crepes. I find they are usually anemic and never feel substantial enough as a meal. The crepes at French Press, however are hearty, punchy, fresh and certainly filling. Everything was seasoned well and carefully prepared, and there are a lot of vegetarian options. We had the Costa Rican coffee, which was smooth and rich. Service was also friendly, knowledgable and fast. Love this place — a great addition to the neighborhood!
