I highly recommend Pete Hobart if you are looking for a job to finish on time and on budget. We met Pete 9 years ago, when he remodeled our kitchen (daunting for a homeowner). Since then, we have used him for a variety of small and large projects, including a basement remodel, sheetrocking over lath&plaster, paint jobs, fence and deck work, and general handyman work (fix a door, rebuild a toilet, look into a leak, etc.). Each time, he has been clear in clarifying the scope and cost of the project (he takes the time upfront to minimize confusion-​aka «additional cost”-along the way). If there are hiccups along the way, he communicates quickly and effectively to arrive at a reasonable solution. He communicates via email, phone and text, and is on time. His prices are fair, and he guarantees his work. He is honest, hard working, cost-​conscious and I highly recommend him.

We’ve been using Pete for about ten years. He built an apartment in our basement while we were out of town, sending us video of the project at each stage. He was working under deadline and came in on time – astounding, when you consider what other contractors do. Pete has done many projects for us while we were traveling and one thing we love, beyond his dedication and skill, is his dedication to making it look good. He comes up with special touches, such as throwing in a couple of small tiles of a different color on a bathroom counter. He’s remodeled our kitchen and master bath, had new siding put on our house plus a complete paint job, redone our hardwood floors – all in the last year. We’d never use anyone else. He’s also a good guy to know.
