Urgent Care Center of Alameda

I went to work one day and when I arrived there the Secretary told me to go see my Manager before I punched in. So I rolled upstairs to my Managers Office and when I arrived he laughed and handed me a Random Drug Test slip .
So I rolled to the Urgent Care Center of Alameda there are our Company’s Drug Testing Provider. The don’t have a Parking lot so I parked my Whip on the Street .
I rolled in and was greeted by the Receptionist. I gave her my Drug Test Paperwork and my California ID. She gave me some Registration and Billing Paperwork to fill out. I returned the Paperwork .and waited for about 10 minutes .
A Nurse came and got me. She took me to a Collection Area where I was told to Empty my Pockets and Wash my hands. I was then handed a Collection Cup with a built in Thermometer and told to use a Special Restroom with no running water. I filled the cup with my Sample and returned it to the Nurse. She checked the Thermometer and recorded the Temperature on the Collection Paperwork and sample labels. The Nurse then split my sample into 2 vials and sealed and labeled them .
The Nurse was Professional, Nice and Prompt .
I was done and rolled out. I’m sure Ill be back. I seem to get drug tested quite often and randomly. lol.

Open late, no appointment needed, and fast and courteous service. This place breaks all my paradigms about how healthcare works these days.
Also, they take most insurance. Awesome.

I woke up one morning feeling a sharp pain in my shoulder. Thinking it was just because I slept with wet hair, I decided to just deal with it. The next morning, I also had a pain in my side but my friends wanted to watch Star Wars and I didn’t want them to give it up to take me to Urgent Care so we watched it and I seemed fine. The third morning, I woke up at 5 am and couldn’t get up due to the piercing pain in my shoulder that radiated a bit up my neck. So hello Urgent Care!
I went online to make sure if be partially covered through my insurance and then scheduled an appointment online for later that morning. It was easy to do and I received a confirmation email.
Urgent Care is located across the street from KFC and Arco and diagonally from Jack in the Box on Park Street. I walked in and was told I needed to fill out paperwork. As soon as I was finished and before I was given back my driver’s license and credit card, I was already ushered to the bankroll where my temperature and blood pressure were checked.
I waited just a few minutes for Sonia to finish up with her other patient in the next room before she came to see me. The reviews I read about her have been spot on. She is very patient and will help walk you through why she’s asking you to do things so you aren’t saying «what the heck» in your mind when they ask you to do something seemingly unrelated to where it hurts. She seems genuinely concerned and really takes the time and doesn’t seemed rush. She and I even had a brief chat about being fellow banana slugs!
I was very thankful that this urgent care exists as there don’t seem to be many around Alameda that take Blue Shield. My coworkers tell me I should switch to Kaiser but I’m still reluctant so having this urgent care center minutes away is a blessing.

I was recently here from out of town spending time and caring for our grandchildren, getting sick upon arrival wasn’t part of my plan. I took a chance and came to this urgent care, I arrived right when they open, it was suggested I could wait for first avail since many patients had made prior appts or make appt to better my chances of not having to wait around so I took an appt for few hours later which I I preferred to go home and rest instead of waiting with other sick ones ,
I was treated by the PA Liz! She was very attentive to my health concerns and my need to get well ASAP, she called my RX in, followed up with me letting me know when I was to pick up my Rx from a local pharmacy. I was very impressed that she took the extra care and follow up to see how I was doing .
I think when someone goes beyond call of duty to display acts of kindness it should be recognized !

This extremely friendly staff got me through a pretty rough time in my life, after I injured my neck at work. The recovery was an almost year-​long process, but Sonia was always there with encouraging words, despite how discouraging the healing process was at times. Everything is very clean, as well, and the wait time always short!

If you need medical care fast that will really help you, this is it. These folks are top-​notch; everyone there has really been kind, and I’m sure it isn’t always easy dealing with people like me, lol. A frustrating work injury left me lost and bewildered, in way too much pain to be rational at times, feeling desperate… and I’ve lost it in there more than once, yet these folks remained calm and diplomatic, professional and always continued to help.
I am grateful for them and in a lot less pain thanks to them.
I’ve seen a few folks here and they all make enough time for you, and that seems super rare in the Bay area. I never feel rushed or unheard or ignored here.
Alameda vs. Oakland for East Bay urgent care is also an easy choice. In Alameda, closeby you have ample parking, Trader Joes, beautiful Bay views for a meditative walk, great restaurants, and a mellow pleasant peaceful pace. This office reflects all that and fits well in Alameda, and they will probably see you today.
Fast thoughtful medical care by a team of gentle people who will actually care about your situation and will take the time to get you the help you need. I highly recommend.

Sonia, the office manager did reach out to me and we had a good conversation about my experience. She explained to me that communicating with me and my efforts to get a call back was a break down in communication in the office. She assured me that she would be addressing this and making sure this issue is fixed. I believe she will and hope that future ratings by patients about their post-​appointment communications will be a good indicator that the communication issues have been resolved. I won’t upgrade my experience to being «A-​OK» which is what 3 stars mean but hope that communication isn’t a continuing issue.
I will upgrade my rating to 2 stars based on the fact that my actual visit was fine and the office is well kept and maintained. Definitely a place I would return to should I need it (hopefully not) and I’d be wiling to give them a second chance.

Walked into the office and the energy on this office is super nice and ZEN .sitting there waiting patietly for my botox procedure a little nervous because I don’t like neddles. Saw Sonia who took care of me and made me feel super relaxed, to my surprise there was no pain felt on my face.
Surprised!!! Having had this procedure done several times in the last 7 years in beverly hills with one of the top plastic surgeon has been painful.
Not only that I look 10 years younger it looks natural.

This place is great-​Sonia and the rest of the staff are also great. Since I don’t have a pcp I’ve come in a few times– all times I’ve been here I’m in and out quickly and I feel like I’m taken care of. I will definitely keep on coming back and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

This clinic is very clean, staff is friendly and they have helped my family on numerous occasions. Physicals, TB tests for work (a simple no fuss process) and on occasion I’ve seen Sonia for a little botox. I know! botox at an urgent care clinic, but my gut told me I could trust the provider and I loved the results. I also see that they promote wellness care and I was referred to a local acupuncturist and scanned to check my antioxidant levels. Looks like I need to eat more fruits and vegetables. These little touches and the competent PA’s on staff made my experiences very positive. I don’t think I’d get this at kaiser. I won’t need this level of care very often, but it’s handy to have around in town.
All in all a very good experience, it is a walk in clinic, so I expected a long wait, surprisingly I only waited 15 – 30 for each experience.

Thank you Sonia and Urgent Care of Alameda for examining my foot after a piece of furniture dropped on it! Staff did a fine job cleaning the wound, then sent me to Alameda Hospital for an x-​ray. Great to have this resource in the community.

I didn’t have a really good experience. I went there specifically for USCIS medical process. I made an appointment with the doctor Curtis which i haven’t get any visit from him. On the top of that, while i was having the physical ceck, i had to wait around ³⁵⁄₄₀ minutes in the room becouse there wasn’t enough staff working so everyone was busy. I was told to pick my results up in ²⁄₃ days. Once i got there the results wasn’t ready yet and no one called me to inform me about that. So, I wasted my time. End of the story: I’m just upset of everything becouse i paid a lot of money, and i didn’t get the right things, and even the visit wasn’t great and was executed by medical assistant and not a proper doctor.
Ps: The girls there are nice and available, the problem is just how everything else worked.

I was originally going to give a 5-​star review, but the post-​follow-​up process has been extremely disappointing.
I originally called ahead for an appointment and, considering this is an Urgent Care Center, the wait to be seen was not that long. Everyone there was kind, courteous and helpful. I left with a very good impression and was back a few weeks later for an allergy test blood draw. I asked the nurse at that time how long it would take to get the results, and she said a few days. Okay, no problem.
I called a week afterward, having not heard from anyone, and the nurse who answered said she was having computer problems and would call me back as soon as possible. I totally understand how it goes with computer problems, so I was okay with this. But I never received a call back. A few days later I called again, and the same nurse answered saying the results had just come in and she would set it on the provider’s desk so he could take a look and give me a call to go over the results. Great!
…That was last week. Have I received a call? Nope. I guess my results were not bad, so there’s no immediate need to tell me the results.

Very professional and straightforward. Called ahead and had a appointment for a few hours later, was seen in short order after arriving.

This place was awesome.
Parking lot was a little tight but the neighborhoods will have some. The woman at the front desk seemed like she was having a bad day but Anna who helped me in the back was awesome. I was in and out on 20 minutes. Would definitely recommend and definitely go back.

I came to the urgent care clinic today because I was having an asthma attack. There was only one other person there besides me, the place was VERY clean and the service was really good. I really like the doctor. she was very pleasant!
I would come here again in a heartbeat!

Met with dr curtis and once again am super impressed. My vitals were pretty low and it turned out I was super sick and he not only knew right away what the ailment was but he also knew exactly what was causing my immune system to be lowered. He explained everything in simple, concise terms and it all made sense.
Once again, I am so super stoked I came here and I use them for everything from the flu to physicals.
I don’t care if I have to pay extra, I care about the care I get and how I’m treated and trusting my drs. You are your best advocate and pharma and insurance don’t care about you and most drs don’t really give a rip so you have to. This practice does and that makes me so so happy and relieved and so glad that I don’t have to leave the island.

This office is something else. It’s been years since I had insurance. I was extremely sick at work today with a migraine. Not being able to wait a little over a week for my PCP, I chose this office based off a google search and a quick Unilocal review.
The PA was so kind, knowledgeable and just really hit the mark.
I would recommend this office to anyone seeking quality care.
