I had a printing job of about 100 pages that I had to get done quickly. I called around Alameda to get pricing, and Monty was far and away the least expensive. Even the library charges three times more per page than Monty. I send him my printing request via email with attachments and my phone number. Five minutes later, I had a call from Monty. He asked me a few questions to make sure I got what I wanted in a finished product. Then he said it will be ready in 30 minutes.
Super fast, super friendly service. Who could ask for anything more? Monty has earned all of my future printing business.

They’ve been my go-​to copying needs since 2008. I just can’t deal with big-​name brand copying places like Kinko’s. I feel like I get ripped off every time. When I had to look up their information again I almost had a heart attack when I couldn’t find their business. I forgot they switched their business name to red tie printing. Great service then still great service now after 6 years! Affordable, kick ass customer service, and a great place for any printing needs.

What an absolutely wonderful experience. I needed to print marriage announcements that I had designed in Adobe InDesign. I had a vague memory of Office Max offering printing services, so I went there first and spent twenty minutes trying to explain to the employee how to print double-​sided from a PDF. Their quote seemed high and they also charge per minute for the time spent preparing files for printing (what?), so I checked Unilocal and found Red Tie.
Going from Office Max to Red Tie was akin to switching from talking to a kindergartner to talking to a PhD. Monty truly knows his stuff — he knew to ask about font outlining, bleeds, etc. — and was marvelously efficient, plus he has a cute dog who dutifully trails behind him as he bustles about the store. He even took the last line of my marriage announcement to heart («Good wishes and marital advice can be sent to [address]») and explained to me and my grinning husband the secrets to a lasting marriage. Hell, after ten minutes in there, I was considering changing careers to work as a printer, because he makes it look like a blast.
The announcements turned out beautifully and cost less than they would have at Office Max, and I was also happy to support a local business. Thirty stars! Go to Monty!

I came in with a personal portfolio that I had printed at a shop with higher graphic printing abilities, and he was able to bind the work beautifully even though it was a custom size.

I came to Monty in need of some business cards. He was very up-​front about the positives and negatives of the options he could offer me. I should note that the cardstock he uses for business cards is more of the «standard business card» variety; they didn’t offer «unique» or «artistic» cardstocks that might appeal to people working in design. For my purposes (law profession), the cardstock he offered was good enough.
More importantly, Monty took the time to do some quick editing of my business card design so that the colors would look as good as possible. Mind you, as far as I know, this is not a design shop so the services he did were just to make me happy (and were free of charge).
Needless to say, I was very pleased with the end product. If you want honest, personalized service at a reasonable cost, Red Tie Printing is the place!

Monte is awesome! He helped me print up some lost dog flyers when my baby got lost. He’s a dog person and understood that I was distraught and exhausted. He kindly and professionally helped me with my last minute request, and even gave me a paper upgrade at no charge. He also did some special pixel thing to my poor quality photo and made my dog look great. Thanks Monte & Leo (store mascot)!

This place was heaven sent. I had a last minute printing job that needed to be done for the Encinal Jets football team. Thanks to Red Tie printing not only did he get it done in a matter of hours but the service was impeccable and the work was on point. Monty was amazing!!! I will never go anywhere else and I recommend Red tie printing for all your pprinting needs. They totally deserve 5 stars.

I’ve been coming here for any sorts of copies or printing and was always satisfied. I like Monty’s customer service because he cares about his customer’s requests. Prices are reasonable! I will make this the only copying place that I will visit from now on and I assure you will never experience disappointment for going here either.

I used Alameda Copy (now, it seems, Red Tie Printing) for my DIY wedding invitations last year. After doing a couple of very simple things at a chain operation and not enjoying it very much, I went looking for a local shop. The guys were very patient, and put up with me and my laptop, even when one evening I shouted «UNCLE» and ran out of the store (I swear I wasn’t a Bridezilla but I was feeling a lot of pressure). Their prices were more than fair, and they worked with me to lay out the smaller elements in the most cost-​effective way possible.
I’ll definitely use them the next time I have a job, big or small.

I had a small number of invitations and a luncheon program printed up by Red Tie. Monty was incredibly professional, friendly, helpful, you name it, he IS customer service! I didn’t know what I was getting into volunteering to have these items printed up for my community organization, and Monty took the time to explain about all my different options in having these jobs done. He helped me with all aspects of my project from recomending formatting, paper types, and other things I had no idea would be factors! And all this advice for what was basically a small job. His turnaround time was very fast, also.

I used Monty to create all the printed collateral for a show: postcards, posters and programs.
Monty was incredibly professional and helpful, guiding me through the myriad options involved in printing decisions always with an eye to getting me the best product at the right price.
Most printers will quote you a price for exactly what you ask for. If you ask for something that won’t meet your needs or made from an unnecessarily expensive material, you are out of luck. Not Monty. Monty went out of his way to guide my decisions to keep costs down even when doing so meant outsourcing the printing work and reducing his margins. All the items looked great and his pricing was extremely competitive.
In the production of the items, he showed an extreme attention to detail and every item came out perfect and was ready ahead of schedule. I recommend Monty to anyone who appreciates honesty, integrity and high quality work.

If I could give 10 stars, I would.
I had a show starting on Saturday and hadn’t ordered postcards for it. The order was placed first thing Monday morning, I had postcards in hand by Friday afternoon. The quality was superb. I am so impressed by the level of personal service — Monty goes above and beyond to help you. Even coming in on a Sunday to double check my files. I also had color prints made and laminated. Anyone who has had photographs printed knows that the quality can be hit or miss. I was thrilled with the results.
Monty makes you feel like you are family and anything is possible. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Monty is wonderful! I recently had new business cards done up and he was vet helpfu in working with my graphic designer and me to get everything adjusted just right for printing. Great customer service –he remembers your name from the first time you come in and worked with you till you are happy with the results. Price was reasonable too.
