We also offer kid’s aikido program for ages 5−15yrs. What does your kids do after school? Why not help them develop physically and mentally by enrolling them in our excellent kids program. The program is specially designed to develop motor skills as well as character building and introduce them to the concept of social building skills quintessential to their growth.

History

Established in 1991.

Established by Michael Flynn, Shihan (Master Instructor) who is now the Chairman of the British Birankai Organization. The dojo was acquired by Sensei Flynn’s senior disciple Elmer Tancinco, 5^th dan, Shidoin (Certified Teacher) in 2005 and is the chief instructor of Alameda Aikido.

Meet the Business Owner

Elmer T.

Business Owner

Age 43, born in Cebu City, Philippines and moved to Bronx, N.Y. in 1980. Studied Shotokan Karate, Boxing, and Judo. Relocated to Alameda, California in 1993 and began his study of martial art of Aikido in 1994 under Michael Flynn, Shihan. His other teachers were T.K. Chiba Shihan & Shibata Shihan. Tancinco sensei teaches traditional aikido, weapons, and Iaido (sword drawing with katana) at his Aikido dojo in Alameda.
