Acupuncture With Grace

I started seeing Grace about 2 years ago to supplement my back relaxation régime (including massage and chiropractic) since computer work really does a number on me. Her treatment ended up tuning up much more than my back, so I became a regular.
She has helped me with everything from water retention to pregnancy symptom relief, and she has great knowledge and advice about nutrition and homeopathic remedies. I’ve recommended her to family and friends who have also become regulars, so please leave some spots in her schedule for us, new people :) She also performs a non-​flame version of cupping that is very relaxing for your back — try it during your acupuncture visit and you’ll see what I mean.

Grace redefined life as I know it. She revitalized me when I needed it most and I owe her a lot. Her comprehensive and practical application of Chinese medicine is enhanced by her very personable and caring approach. It is an understatement to say «she knows her stuff.» She was able to help my kidneys and liver after an automobile accident in a very short period of time. She is a fantastic acupuncturist.

I had been experiencing circulation problems and sought out Grace to help. I really appreciated how much time Grace put into the intake process — finding out what my particular issue was that prompted the visit but also simply about my health and wellness in general — it got me thinking.
She really listened and gave me great advice about my eating habits! The way she described my issue was something I had never thought about but so resonated with me and I felt such a yes! moment. Felt like ‘ok — this could actually really help.’ And the advice along with the acupuncture treatment totally did. My circulation issue went away and my other issue — constant hunger — did too, thanks to the diet recommendations she gave me.
She’s also really easy going, no pressure, kind and attentive and will go out of her way to ensure your treatment was effective and left you feeling better. She even sent me recipes!

Cool low key, doesn’t try to sell you anything… not product or ideas… I am a pretty western thinker but when it comes to pain management I say do EVERYTHING. She will be as into the experience as you want to be… for me I just want quiet, warmth, soothing good thought… poke me with needles to try and make the pain go away.

Grace is an extraordinary practitioner, and I highly recommend her. She’s knowledgeable, deeply caring and gentle, and intuitive. She has a gift for both diagnosis and healing, and I’ve found her extremely helpful. She has a gift, and she’s wonderful in every way. Outstanding!

I found Grace through my fellow Unilocalers and they did not steer me wrong. She has a sweet caring manner about her which really puts you at ease. I’m not a big fan of the process but I like the results. Acupuncture with Grace is just that. She makes the process much more pleasant and Grace-​ful. I originally sought her for stomach problems but I am now getting help with allergies and sleeping better as a perk.
If someone is going to poke you, you might as well have it done with Grace!

Grace is amazing. I have been seeing her for about a year on and off. She diagnosed me for something my Western MD totally missed that resulted in surgery. All is well. But it explained so many of the symptoms I was having that my MD’s dismissed. She has helped me with both regular treatments over time and even short term issues have improved. Grace supplements the acupuncture treatments with food suggestions and even recipes! Such a great support. I have more energy and sleep better than ever. She asks the right questions and is also very intuitive. She is also continues to educate herself which only benefits her clients. In addition to all her knowledge she is kind and caring.

My first visit with Grace left such an impression on me that I decided to continue treatment with her for some digestion/​gastrointestinal problems that have been plaguing me for the past 10 years and which have made it difficult for me to lose weight no matter how much I exercised or how healthy my diet was. Grace suggested some tweaks to my diet, namely avoiding wheat and sugar as they can be the root cause of many digestive disorders. I adhered to this diet strictly for the first month and sought treatment from Grace on a biweekly basis. I must say that the results have been incredible. Since I started treatment with Grace in February, I have not gained any weight and have been slowly losing weight. Her treatments for my digestive system seemed to have jumpstarted both my metabolism and whatever else works to help your body breakdown and digest foods. I can’t really say that I understand how all this incredible acupuncture magic really works — but it works. I feel cleaner, lighter and less encumbered by my system that obviously hasn’t been working right for years. My only regret is not trying acupuncture sooner and thinking that diet and exercise alone would solve my problems. Grace is also open to learning more about the various digestive disorders that can make people really sick and since one of the things I struggle with is a candida (yeast) overgrowth — she has been developing new skills to help women like me overcome these problems.
Grace has the most remarkable gentle manner. She has a soft touch and you barely feel the needles in your body. I am a go-​go-​go kind of person and Grace has done what not many people can do – force me to relax when I’m on her table. Maybe next time, she may even get me to fall asleep…

I just finished my 15^th acupuncture session with Grace and I can’t tell you how happy I am. I originally went in not knowing what I wanted and not knowing what to expect. I think I told her that I was pretty unhappy and that was manifesting in my body in a way where I wasn’t able to lose weight (among other things.)
Well, 4 months later, I’m a completely different person — ALL thanks to Grace. Grace has completely changed my life. I can’t tell you how much I’ve learned from her about how to eat and drink, about how Chinese medicine works.
My sessions and my at-​home work that she’s helped me with have made me happy and healthy, and yes DEFINITELY lighter. Actually, the weight coming off was the first thing I noticed. The second thing was that I often find myself smiling, for no reason at all — Like sitting in traffic smiling. She’s helped me with a lot of detox and reinforcing different organs/​systems, and I can’t tell you what a difference it has made.
I keep going back to her because that hour is always the best part of my week.

I’ve been seeing Grace now for a couple of months now. She’s not only knowledgeable, but warm and one of the most skilled acupuncturists I have come across. When I came to her, I was completely stressed out to the point my whole body was stiff. Within a couple of weeks, through treatment and diet, I’ve noticed a drastic difference. Grace is a caring and competent healer. I am seeing her for stress reduction and the treatments are helping me to manage the stress in my life and reducing bad habits like stress eating. Grace is warm and professional. She is very good at putting the needles in as gently as possible. I’ve tried several different acupuncturists and she has a nice touch, better than another doc who was supposed to be «the best in the bay». Grace is amazing!
I had a horrible sharp pain in my right foot whenever I flexed, pointed or wore heels. Since I dance for a living it was imperative that I got this taken care of. I tried everything and nothing worked. Finally I decided to try out acupuncture with Grace and thank god I did because I have no more pain. Other than my foot problem, I am extremely stressed out all the time, which is so bad for my health. Grace was also very attentive to my emotional problems and really helped calm me down through Acupuncture.
I will admit I was skeptical about Acupuncture (and it didn’t help that I hate needles) but I totally believe in it now. Grace was really awesome and not only was she thorough and really listen to my concerns, she followed up with me and made me feel very comfortable. The needles didn’t hurt at all. Having a session with Grace is equivalent to a massage. I leave relaxed, rejuvenated and energized. I also feel like I really gave my body a well deserved boost.

I was diagnosed with Graves disease 10 years ago and had radioactive treatment which gave me hypothyroidism. Throughout the decade, numerous endocrinologists in the Bay Area and Washington DC would monitor my TSH and blood count, but could not and refused to help me with my ongoing symptoms and told me to live with it. I even flew down to UCLA for a second opinion and it was discouraging. When I called Grace’s office, I was chronically fatigued, lethargic, depressed, had severe brain fog, muscle cramping and could not lose weight even though I work out 5 plus times a week! It was debilitating for me as I need to think on my feet for my job and my attitude and lack of clarity prohibited me from making the best judgments. After treatments with Grace, I now feel refreshed when I wake up, have natural energy, can think quickly and clearly and saw my own physical transformation. It is so amazing how multiple acupuncture sessions and change in diet has literally changed my life. After waiting for 10 years with horrible symptoms and Western medicine, I finally found the holy grail! Even my blood results showed it!

Grace was very knowledge and sensitive to my fear of needles. She proved to be good listener during the intake and provided me a reference for treatment beyond my presenting issue. I though she was very resourceful and extremely professional.
She has great bedside manner and is very easy to talk to. I like how she told me what’s she is doing without making it sound complicated. I particularly liked how she helped me prepare for each needle insertion and they came out with ease.
The office décor creates a calm and soothing environment and is conveniently located near Alta Bates Summit Medical Center. I can’t wait to go back.

I have been seeing Grace for acupuncture for only a short amount of time and her treatment and instructions have already begun to completely change my life. I have a rare neurological disease and have suffered excrutiating pain on a daily basis for over 3 years. Prescription medications do not even help. I finally decided to try acupuncture. I am SO glad I did. I realized on my first visit that Grace was not going to just be one of those acupuncturists who just stick needles in you and focus on treating the symptoms.
