History

Established in 1971.

I began teaching music after I finished my eleven year study of classical music and theory focusing on the piano. I started learning guitar in 1966 and picked up the electric bass in 1978, including them in my teaching network in 1998. I teach privately out of my home music studio in the city of Alameda.

Established in 1978

I first began guitar tech work while working with the service department at Leo’s Music in Oakland, which at the time was the second largest music store in California. After about a year of learning procedures and techniques from my «mentors», I began doing electric setup work for Jerry Garcia and Carlos Santana, and acoustic setups on Stephen Stills’ various Martin guitars. I took a hiatus from the business when my son was born, and resumed in 1998 under the name Infinite Spirit Music. My shop is located at my residence in the city of Alameda.

Meet the Business Owner

Steven B.

Business Owner

I began playing piano and keyboards when I was seven years old. Guitar came into the picture for me on July 4, 1966, followed by the electric bass and Hammond B3 organ in 1978. I began performing professionally when I was sixteen and did my first professional recording session at 23 with music’s legendary Bill Graham and company. Expanding my performance and recording with the Fender Rhodes, Wurlitzer and Clavinet, plus and Oberheim synthesizers, I finally settled on the Yamaha P-80 digital piano and the Nord Electro2 synthesizer (73 key version) as my instruments of choice, which I use to this day.

I have numerous stages I can call home throughout Northern California, with ten years in the spotlight at the notorious Blues clubs of San Francisco’s North Beach and Fisherman’s Wharf districts. Two particularly fond memories of mine were opening for The Band (Bob Dylan’s original backup band) during their 1980’s reunion tour and performing with Joe Satriani before his climb to stardom.
