Mobile Auto Enhancements

By appointment only. The owner is the only person who schedules appointment and with that said, he can get very busy. They are located near Longs at the Pearlridge Mall.
First, they are very busy. I waited for almost 3 hrs to get my car detailed; no wonder they moved their location near the mall. The workers are awesome; although I have never met the owner, it seems like he doesn’t do the dirty work with his workers.
Second, it seems like they offer a lot of deals on both Groupon and Amazon that it’s so hard for them to keep up with their customers. I have tried setting up another appointment but it went straight automatic message stating «the person is not accepting calls». Well there goes my 2 Hydro Glass Auto Detail Packages.
Lesson learned on this one, not all «deals» are good deals.

Obviously looking at my pictures, I’m very unhappy. Bought a Groupon for $ 29, the add clearly stated exactly the type of services entailed. Wash, clay bar buffing for hood, Teflon pain sealant, rim and tire cleaning with permanent dressing and exterior window cleaning. Additional detailing services available for a fee.
Well that’s the first thing Eric did, attempt to upgrade. He said, when you leave the hood of your car will be shinier than the rest of the car.(Which it wasn’t) I inquired «how much?». Hundred… I stopped him, «no just do what’s stated on the Groupon»
I can understand for business purposes, you would attempt to upgrade your customers. However, I wanted to see what type of detailing work he did; because the reviews on Unilocal are mixed.
I think this may be my first one-​star review. Reasons: 1) rims not cleaned well (see pictures of grease in tire rims) 2) spots left on car; old bird poop, water spots and spots where the car wasn’t washed.
As I should have listened to Dean C., yes McKinley car wash does a better job, for half the price, and I would’ve had my car vacuumed, door jambs and dash cleaned!
One-​star for getting my car done within 1 ½ hours.

I am definitely going back! Very professional and courteous staff… They did a great job on my car! My car is black so I can see every detail (no to mention, I’m slightly OCD)… So I was very pleased with the results!

When it comes to your car it requires a very personal service. Especially if you’re not washing, waxing, or cleaning it yourself. Usually, that particular service can take some trial and error when finding that right place. Luckily, upon arriving back home on island I was able to find that preferred place on the first try.
I’ve been here 3x so far and I plan on continuing that trend mostly due to their GREAT customer service. I always feel welcome and the staff is very accommodating. I always run into Ron and I believe Eric is the person who’s taken care of my car each visit. They’re very knowledgable and offer great recommendations without being pushy about extras. I try to go in early on the weekend to knock my errands out early. However, my last visit I tried going on a Sunday afternoon and was worried I wouldn’t be able to get my car in due to the rush. But they were more than willing to help me out and squeezed me in for a wash and wax in a very timely manner.
I’ve been pleased with each visit. My car comes out shiny and smelling great inside. I’m always being asked where I take my car and I gladly reference these guys. I think they’ve settled on a convenient location. It’s not in the hustle and bustle of town. I just drop off my car and spend the time in Pearlridge or at the Farmers Market on Saturdays.

Great Service!!! MAE took me in as a walk in and made our car shine like it never did before. Service took 3 hours, but that was exactly how long they said it would take. Upon completion we were provided with information on how to upkeep the polish job that they did. We will definitely be back.

I came here with a $ 35 groupon for a wax and was expecting an upsell. If my car were in better shape, I would have declined and just went with the package. However, after a visit to Hi Line Auto Detail two years ago ruined my paint (they did an «acid wash» whatever that is, after I paid for a wax job and was expecting a wax job. When I looked at my car in the sunlight, there were paint drip marks on my car! So they had to buff it all out, removing a layer of paint. Well, they didn’t even bother to wax it after or seal it or anything, so my paint was dull and I hated my car every time I looked at it and regretted not suing that company. That was Hi Line, *not* mobile Auto Enhancements).
But back to MAE. The guy did a test spot and it looked good, so I paid $ 160 for them to do the whole car. The paint looks beautiful, all shiny, not dull like before. Not like new, but there were 2 layers buffed away by HI Line, so it’s not new paint! I even asked about the black rubber trim around the whole car because it smudges off onto my paint when I wash my car. He took his wax buffer to the part between the front and rear windows, which sealed it up. I dropped my car off a bit after 12pm, consult was done by 12:30pm. And it was ready at 4:15pm. Fast turn around.
Moral of the story: don’t neglect your brand new car! Pay to have your car washed and waxed on a regular basis, then you won’t have to pay to get the oxidation buffed out, never good to remove layers of paint.
I am highly satisfied with the work completed by Mobile Auto Enhancements and will return for a regular wash and wax.

I dont like being lied to. This is going to be interesting.
I called in advance to make an appointment with the Owner Ron and was told in 45 minutes would be perfect and would have me out in another 45 – 1 he as soon as I got there. I get to the location by that time. The manager Eric made me park my white car under a leaking roof that was dripping profusely of rusty colored water onto the hood of my vehicle. Strike 1.
Eric then asked if I had any coupons from living social or groupon, I said not and if it was cheaper I’ll get one. He said DO NOT get a coupon its pointless, they upsell the service. He was honest, Their website was $ 25 exterior on Groupon, its $ 30.A coupon is buying an upsell ripoff. Strike 2.
Next, I was asked how long can you wait? I specifically made an Appointment. Eric argued that he cant start as there were cars waiting. I said I made an appointment and told exactly what the Owner said, that’s what appointments are for. Eric backfired «Owner don’t really come to the location he don’t know how busy we are, he’s on mobile work». He said OK after asking employees if they were almost done, I waited 15 minutes to get checked in. Strike 3.
Eric tried to upsell me on another wax I said I only need the $ 25 exterior package with included wax. Tried to upsell me wax for $ 50 more. What! 50 more for another wax? How much better is it really to be worth 50? The wax with the package already includes caranuba, one of the best. The $ 50 upsell wax must be of extraordinary chemistry. No thank you. Strike 4.
Now this is where it gets bad. I made a comment about the upsell saying their competitor a good friend of mine is pretty well known for his detail work, I stated I would rather pay $ 300 the best quality on the island than a $ 50 upsell on wax. He asked who my friend was and he said «THAT FAT GUY». Calls my friend FAT. Really? Strike 5.
The manager tells me he worked with him at Kia. He said my friend had nothing compared to his detailing skills. Eric said to ask my friend about him. I did. My friend, who owns a company in the same industry said he knows him as a co-​worker back at Kia. What my friend said about the manager was just as bad as my experience with MAE so far. He told me to ask so I did and got answers that did not impress me at all. Strike 6!
Hour later my car was done. Not completely. I mentioned earlier they made me park under a leaking roof that dripped of rusty colored water? The spots were evident on the hood, water spots of rust color. My girlfriend was furious. She complained. He said it wasnt their fault and would not fix it. Took my finger, wiped a few off with little effort. He said its there before. My car was in that parking stall they have reserved for their business, being dripped on that exact spot 30 minutes. Eric took a buffer with some compound tried to buff it out. It left black smudges, another guy had to wipe it clean. He wiped away the rest of spots effortlessly with a cloth as I was with a finger. They said the package I had, should have came off easily. Apparently if its the case then they didn’t try to remove it and just let it sit there then figure they would blame me. If they make me park there, clearly see the roof dripping of this substance they should fix it, its their property.
A lot of frustration between us, the manager called us little Children as we voiced concerns, told us to leave for free. I insist to pay multiple times but the manager refused it. I would pay my services all I want was honesty and them to fix it like any other LEGIT, HONEST, RESPECTFUL business would. There was too many strikes already against them, I don’t know what else they could do to hurt themselves.
An hour later I got a call from Owner Ron to follow up. I never been lied to so much in one conversation. Ron was NOWHERE to at the scene before and after my complaints but he calls me saying he was there. He said he inspected my car before it was getting washed and called me out on my paint not being in good condition to say that’s why spots was on the hood. I have a «2012» Lancer Evolution.
I asked for the Owner before my car was touched and was told he was not going to be in because on a mobile job. So the Owner lied saying he was there, said he moved my car to the pickup spot to do final inspection. Where was he when all this happened? Not Here. Suddenly says he was there the entire time? If he inspected it, he wasn’t doing his job. This is very shady.
He also said on the phone after I told him about the leaking roof, said it wasn’t something he had control over and told pearlridge about the issue. He said a $ 400,000 car came, samething with leaky roof and with the package I got, was able to remove. He said next time tell him problems first hand, I told him straight don’t make your customers park in the stall if you know about the issue but refuse to take responsibility while knowing this is a direct problem to your customers cars!

I was really stressed out because I had somehow acquired white scuffs on the side of my brand new car! I was so upset! My boyfriend had recently taken is car here to do paint correction. We contacted the owner and he was so helpful! They got the scuffs off and you can’t even tell it happened! AND I got back a clean car! It was also cheap! I’m very happy. See before and after photos!

I bought a coupon from Groupon and made an appointment at 12:00pm. The coupon was for a car wash polish and clay bar the car hood. I have a small car Nissan sentra. The guy from auto enhancement told me 1 ½ to 2 hours. I came back at 2:30pm and found out that they just only finish washing the car. He told me at least another 1hour. This is ridiculous. Last time I’m bringing my car here. Lucky I was off today otherwise I would be super pissed off. They should have called me.
I walked around my car and it was still dirty on the roof and side of my car. McKinley car wash is way better than these guys. Don’t bring your car there.

So I took my car in a few days ago and I dropped my car off to Ron the owner. He told me my car would take two hours for a wash and wax. I came back three hours later and Ron was no where to be found and my car hadn’t even been washed! One of the managers saw my distress and came to talk to me. He was extremely courteous and professional. I wish I would have remembered his name. I think it was Jon or don, something along those lines. He gave me another time estimate and when I came back at that exact time my car was finished and looking awesome! While I was paying I looked around for the owner but he was still gone. They did a great job but I would recommend talking to one of the managers in charge instead of that sleazy guy Ron. That’s not the way I would run a business.

Well my moms car was needless to say not taken care of, if white could look bad her car was it… so she took it over to MAE and she called me with some concerns, so I talked to them on the phone from California and felt very comfortable with them. Why should I, I am from Hawaii also and it felt like I was back home, but back to the detail, my moms car was what I suspected it to be… BAD! He sent me a picture and showed me the difference on what was and would could be, I must admit I was skeptical, so we went ahead with the full job… well 8 hours later (yep it was that bad!) she called me and said WOW I don’t think this is my car, MAE sent me pictures and I couldn’t believe it either, my mom said they did a COMPLETE detail inside and out and her car looked brand new, well at least as new as it could for an 05 Honda could… SO yes they take a long time but are very very detailed and my mom will now be going back every two weeks or a follow up wash and one every three months for a touch up waxing. GREAT Job guys and thanks for taking care of my mom! Mahalo!!! Be looking you up when I am in town.

Location: ground level of downtown Pearlridge, near Longs. Look for the people with green t-​shirts and the white tent. Came with a living social. My car is nice and clean. They did good attention to detail.
So why am I only giving 4 stars not 5? When I dropped my car off, the guy asked me if I wanted them to open my trunk to vacuum it. I very clearly said no, I have a lot of things in there and I don’t like people touching my things. He said he understood, and that’s why they ask first.
Estimated time it would be done was around 1 pm. I understand estimates aren’t exact, but it’s now 2:30 PM and my car isn’t done yet. Add to that the fact that when I showed up, what do you know, my trunk is wide open. I keep a lot of valuables in my trunk, including expensive purses, etc. I am NOT happy that I very nicely told them I did not want anyone touching opening or touching the inside of my car trunk. The guy said he «authorized» his workers to go ahead and open it. Well, it’s MY car. He ended up speaking to me after to assure me nothing was touched, which I’m glad he did because this review initially got 2 stars as I was so upset about it.
Overall, they did a really great job with the cleaning, but the failure to listen was what cost the review.

Professional and courteous service. I would return with a coupon. The standard service and options are pricey, especially for a garage at the mall in the open elements. The internal care was just ok. The external care was exceptional. If you are looking for a good wax and polish, MAE 808 will provide it. The location is a little tight and I’m not a fan of the dry cleaning products, but the good attitude made up for the mediocre to good detail job. Thanks to groupon for making it affordable enough to try.
