Water Rehab with Yvonne Garst increased the quality of life for my dog who had a bad back leg. He had never been in the water until his first appointment and Yvonne really knew how to put him at ease. She also provided clear instruction for at home exercises I could do at home to increase his muscle strength. I highly recommend.

After taking my «Eskie» to the same vet for the last 9 years, (then a move 30 miles away) it was time to find a local vet in my area. Much searching the internet, reading reviews and talking to everyone I know that has a pet… I landed at K9 Gym. I have to say that they exceeded my expectations! From getting an appointment same day to my Chloe receiving a thorough evaluation. (lasting about 1 hour and answering all of my questions) We received the necessary treatment to heal her hot spot.

I sent K-​9 Gym an email explaining my dog’s condition and asked if they could give me some guidance with home therapy and assist with the fitting of a wheelchair we’d purchased over the internet. Since their facility (the closest one) is over 35 miles from my home, I further explained that I didn’t want to commit to an onsite program. I was delighted with the response and further relieved and overwhelmed by the amount of information I came away with on our first visit. Dr. Sally Lane was attentive, patient (I had to bring my 2^nd dog to the appointment and she was a handful) and thorough. I believe she spent nearly 2 hours examining my dog and going over many movements I could do to help my dog at
the end of the appointment she had a tidy folder with all the info and recommendations she had gone over with me and referred me to their other facility for the wheelchair fitting.
At the 2^nd appointment at the Holistic facility, Dr. Dody Tyneway came right out to greet us before we even entered the clinic! She immediately got busy helping us understand my dogs reluctance to move in the wheelchair and in short order, my dog was walking toward us in the chair. Then Dr. Tyneway took several photos and video of my dog in the wheelchair and assured me she’d get back to me about the correct fitting. My dog was then ushered into a prearranged treadmill session where the staff was very gentle introducing my dog to the water tank.
The point to this long review is this… they did exactly what I needed and could afford. Yes, there was a soft sales pitch for the water treadmill package but that was expected and I felt no pressure to act on it.
Although Dr. Lane spent more time with my dog, Dr Tyneway’s office followed up with me as promised with more information about our wheelchair. I am very pleased with the staff and the Doctors attention to my dogs condition while keeping in mind our monetary and logistics limitations.

K9 Gym has been a lifesaver, for myself and Nibbles, my chihuahua/​doxie mix who was injured a year ago and paralyzed. Nibbles and I love Dr. Tyneway, Margo, Margaret and Sara. You couldn’t ask for more skilled and caring people to assist you (and your dog or cat) in recovering function and some quality of life. I wish more veterinarians and people would realize that much can be done to rehabilitate
dogs and cats who are born with disablities or become disabled.

Without doubt, the finest rehab facility ever! My dog, Daddy-​O, suffered severe nerve damage after being struck by a car, and nearly lost his right front leg. I tried a couple other therapy places, but found them to be cold and detached, and on average, they spent only 10 minutes with Daddy-​O per appointment. When I found K-​9, it was a whole new world. The staff is extremely talented, educated and caring, and Daddy-​O has flourished under their care. Every therapy session starts with massage and exercises designed to rehabilitate the injured area. Then it’s on to water therapy — either swimming in the crystal clean 15,000 gallon pool, or using the hydro treadmill. In addition to the great therapists, Dr. Jill Bailey is usually on hand, and keeps close watch over the k-​9 patients. She schedules regular appointments to evaluate progress and tweak the therapy. I can’t say enough about the high quality of care at K-​9 Rehabilitation, and recommend them without reservation. Thanks to K-​9, Daddy-​O went from nearly losing his leg, to happily running around again at the local dog park. What a great success story!

Dr. Tyneway and staff at K9 Gym/​Holistic Vet are the BEST!!! They have always been so great with my dogs, and I truly believe my Great Dane has had many more years here because of their special care and attention. They are always available, even when busy, and will make time to see me/​or do a house call if need be. I have gotten to know them all so well over the years and feel like each person there is a friend! I have never experienced that at any other vet. LOVE THIS PLACE!!!

Absolutely love this place! My Sheltie, Tory, comes for a swim in the 15,000 gallon pool to keep fit for agility. My Cavalier, Harley, swims for rehab for an arthritic elbow and back pain. Dr. Tyneway (brilliant!, skilled, dedicated) evaluated my dogs’ issues and designed an individual treatment program for each. I was impressed with the staff for the patient and gentle way my reluctant dogs were introduced to their first swim. Harley has also received laser and acupuncture treatments. I appreciate that I leave with a personalized demonstration of how to massage his back so I can continue his treatment at home. A therapeutic day spa for your pet! What could be better than that?

This is owned by Dr Dody Tyneway of Holistic Veterinary in Calabasas. I took my dog there after an ACL surgery that had gone bad. My dog was treated by Dr Jill Bailey who is very good and caring. My dog was getting better and then suddenly she took a turn for the worse. I had purchased a treadmill package of 10 but was unable to use them since my dog could not walk. When asked what could be wrong with my dog Dr Tyneway could not take the time to even take a look at her. When I asked for a refund she refused but agreed that I could swap for other services. My feeling was why? My dog can’t use the services. Still no refund. Dr Bailey tried but no luck. Then instead of talking to me directly she gave the job to an employee and still no refund. It wasn’t until I got very upset that I finally had a refund. But, no Dr Tyneway. She still can’t be bothered with my dog. I hope all the people who think about using this place think twice. It’s a sales pitch not a care facility and I will never go back. Beware!
