Whenever I see a volcanic-red food truck, my heart palpitates in anticipation. The BLT sandwiches served up by The BLT is so fabulously good, I still dream about the large, thick-cut slabs of bacon adorning fresh-baked artisanal breads weeks later. I consider myself lucky having caught them at a non-profit event serving up some delicious grub. I glared in envy while my friend wolfed down the sexy Caprese sandwich, all the while mumbling in approval with every bite. My Red Hot Cheesy Pepper sandwich didn’t last half as long – lest anyone presumed to share a bite from it – damn good spicy bacon cheddar sammich! Prep time is lengthy; I’m not sure other people would appreciate waiting 15 – 20 minutes for a sandwich; but The BLT crew really love their craft – and it shows in the high quality of their ingredients and the loving care it took to assemble the sandwiches.

Delicious! Hunted this truck down at the White Rock Local Market today. The wait was loooong, like 30 or so minutes from getting in line to receiving the sandwiches(since they’re brand new they have some kinks that obviously need to be worked out), but the sandwich was worth it. They sell a variety of different BLTs. I ordered the B.E.L.T., which was a BLT on seriously good bread with an over-hard fried egg. I’ve said this in many reviews, but I will eat anything with a fried egg on it. This one was particularly good. Hubs got the caprese BLT, which had mozzarella and pesto on it, and he enjoyed it. Normally such a long wait would have me rate down a truck, but I’m cutting them some slack since they just started rolling around town. Prices were comparable to any other food truck($ 8 a sandwich). I’d try them again.

3.5 stars. I like the idea of a bacon-themed food truck, but was disappointed in the quality of bacon served today. I got the«Morning After» which is a breakfast biscuit sandwich of bacon, fried potatoes, and scrambled eggs. The potatoes and eggs were well cooked and lightly seasoned. The homemade biscuit was fresh and not too buttery(just how I like it). But the bacon came in very thin strips and small quantities — not the satisfying dose of mouth-watering bacon I was expecting. Maybe it’s because I went towards the end of the hour and they’d run out of the good stuff. But I hope they deliver on the bacon since it’s in their name. The staff was working visibly hard to keep up with the orders. They gave me bottled water during the wait(which ended up being only 10 minutes), so not a bad experience!
