Every town is important and completely deserving of it’s basic human rights. Namely a decent burrito joint. We’re all crunched for time we need something fast and dependable. Nothing too fancy: Chipotle or Freebirds will do. Most cities have this covered. Not Abilene. There were a couple Blue Taco locations but that place wasn’t good. And there’s no big corporate spots like the previously mentioned chipotle. But when you mention Sharky’s eyes light up for some reason. I don’t get it. Everything about the place leaves something to be desired. It’s in a grocery store for one, which I could forgive if the food was good, but I don’t think it is. Tortillas are packaged but most places like this also do it… But at least at other places they don’t taste funny. The meats I’ve tried, chicken and steak, we’re both lacking in the flavor department. Beans, rice, salsas… All bland. The queso was alright for burritos but I wouldn’t want it with chips. As a package the food isn’t nauseating, it’s just not good enough for me to ever come back here myself. Like most bad places, however, I inevitably come back when a friend wants it. Last time I went an employee, I’m not sure if she was associated with the grocery store or Sharky’s, went around to all the trash cans to empty them, pulling out the large smelly bags and placing them in a shopping cart. She wheeled that nasty mess all over the dining room while I was trying to eat and I think by now you have an idea about why I don’t like coming to this place. Burritos are one of the single most important aspects of life and if you can’t render perfection I don’t think you ought to be pedaling your weak rendition of this classic lunch to impressionable young minds. Stop saying Sharky’s is the best place for burritos. You’re so wrong and you know it!

I normally like Sharkey’s, but this is the second time I’ve had a mild case of food poisoning after eating there. It’s always been a great to-go option, but I think I’m done with it for a while. It’s not worth the risk honestly.

Fun place! The people really help make it — awesome servers and staff in general. Super nice and helpful. Burritos are very good — not as good as Freebirds but cheaper and better value. Free chips and salsa with the burritos was a big plus. Salsas are awesome and fresh. No complaints! We’ll be back!

Horrible. Beef had no flavor. Burrito handler was a total d***, that is when he wasn’t ignoring us and acting like the depressed cartoon person in a Zoloft commercial. I said«just a little bit of beans;» beans make up 45% of this burrito. I said«a dash of med hot sauce;» it was then smothered. I thought that much sauce would ruin the burrito but I never once tasted it /:(…just like everything else besides beans) Plain rice? Thats it? THIS PLACE SUCKS.

I can’t recommend this spot even though they have potential. First of all, the cashier needs to cut his cocaine nail(I guess he doesn’t realize that the bulk of their business comes from the Christian College across the street) Second, the senior citizen server needs to put more meat in the burrito or at least be consistent. It was very rice heavy with little flavor and the salsa was garbage. As soon as chipotle opens a store this place will go out of business! The only reason they are getting 2 stars is because of the chips.

I love sharkys! I make a trip once a month to abilene to eat here(and visit family) the food has more flavor then free birds, you can get potatoes and spicy ranch(which is the bomb) on your burrito! The place is clean, people behind the counter are always fast, especially during lunch rush!

I love sharky’s. What makes them different from other burrito places is they offer potatoes. Also, If you get the kid’s combo you get a free drink with it and the burrito isn’t much smaller. I can never finish a big one anyways. Spicy ranch with the chips is the bomb!

I like Sharkys but it’s not one of my favorites. Nothing too special about this place. The toppings are all pretty basic but I do love their chips. I think their chips are a live or hate for people bc the rest of my group didn’t like them. Basic Burrito, Basic Experience. Probably will go back and I don’t know why.

Poor copy of Freebirds. Overpriced, too salty, and nothing special about the décor. The food is also hit and miss. Plus you have to pay for refills? Just waiting for Freebirds or Chipotle to open and put them out of business.

Since Abilene is devoid of a Chipotle, Sharky’s steps up to fill that void. In a leased space inside the United Supermarket, you’ll find this make your own burrito spot. Choose your size(kids or adult), your tortilla type(flour, wheat or jalapeño), and then go down the line and tell them what to put in your burrito(a la Chipotle). I chose black beans, rice, tomatoes, onions, pico, onions, and cheese. After you’re done, they wrap it up and get your chips and salsa. I asked for mild and medium. They were a great combo and pretty fresh. I just wish they heated up the burrito before it was done. But a satisfying meal nonetheless, especially after an hour on the treadmill. I’d be a regular if I lived in Abilene. I’m sure all those repressed college kids are grateful for it.

Sharky’s has awesome burritos, I love the free chips, the spicy ranch, and the potatoes. One bad experience with an unhygienic staff member. Best burrito in town.

There WAS a long line but, that’s just how a restaurant is. Food and ordering went by smoothly and quickly. Food quality was great. Environment was awesome. If you get the grilled jalapenos get less than you normally would. They will set your face on fire.

Food was good and done fast even though it was during the lunch rush. The burrito I had was delicious and tasted very fresh. The place is clean with a laid back feel.
