I went to this branch of Marks and Spencer while in Wigan, looking for something Gluten Free as they are normally very good for coeliac’s. They is quite a large clothing section before you reach the slightly smaller yet still a good size — Food Hall. The staff didn’t really seem to know about gluten free, who’m I asked, this is really dissapointing as I have been given guided tours at Marks and Spencer stores, closer to me before. I couldn’t find any gluten free sandwiches, which are normally avaliable at most M and S stores. They did have a selection of nice gluten free meals on offer and sold newspapers. They have quite a large checkout area with a scan it yourself and standard tills, they was quite a long wait when I went and it was hard to get assistance from staff, who was busy trying to sort someones coupons out(Now I know how it feels), and she kept running back and forth between that woman and someone else, she should of noticed I was struggling and helped me or she could of at least radioed through so another member of staff could come running. The food selection could be better here compared to other stores and the staff are some of the worst I have seen in a store of this franchise, it is a large store so it doesn’t deserve a single one star, I feel it does not deserve any more than two however. I leave very dissapointed as it is nowhere near the standard I have seen from Marks and Spencers stores in the past, the main thing letting this store down is the staff.
