We have been a few times and not had bad experiences, tried to book for Sunday to take my Mother who is disabled and elderly. I was told by the manager that they were only taking bookings from 12−2pm or for parties 10 or more. I told the manager my Mother is disabled and can’t stand for any period of time could I book a table and we planned to go at 3pm, the reply was no. He was rude and unhelpful, he also said that if he booked us a table then his regular customers wouldn’t be able to get a table… well here one regular customer who has eaten there twice in the last 4 weeks that won’t be returning. If you are disabled I would recommend that you give this place a miss

Went to the refurbished Trigger Pond recently, a pub my friend and i regularly used to tke the kids for a meal, 2 for 1 offer applies and pre refurb we never had any complaints, however… we arrived, were seated quite promptly then waited, and waited, well put it this way, if we had’nt got up and gone to the bar for our drinks i think we’d still be waiting now. A word of warning, the post mix drinks in this venue are to be avoided at all times, the establishment obviously dont know how to maintain the equipment and beverages are always flat. Back to the dining experience, if you could call it that, i ordered from the specials board, steak with stilton and a port sauce, sounded lovely but when it arrived didnt resemble anything like the description, the steak had been orderedmedium, was cooked solid all thru, and the stilton on top? could have been a chunk of cheddar, certainly didnt look like stilton to me, and no sign at all of the port sauce. I sent it back and plumped for the warm goats cheese and black pudding salad. In my opinion this pub has really gone down in standards, it used to be really good, we had an excellent meal there when it first reopened after the refurb but after this we wont be returning, terrible food, terrible service.

The Trigger Pond has just been refurbished and taken over by Marstons Pubs — and all I have to say is what a transformation!!! the Pub is more of a restaurant and a fantastic improvement from the drinking hole it used to be. The food was sensational — all freshly cooked and none of this reheated garbage. The staff have all been trained to excellent standards and were very eager to please, polite and friendly. We will definately be making this pub our regular as all the main meals including the specials are 2 for 1. fantastic all round will definately Excellent!!!

I must admit I’ve not been for a few years but the last time was enough to make me not want to go back. The Caesar salad was just iceberg and pepper in a dish. The pork lion was poor. Not sure what it’s like now.
