Just like your normal marks and spencers. Well situated in town right on the main shopping street. It has a food section, gifts, café and your usual clothes. Spread over 3 floors.

Marks and Spencer is located on Oxford Street in Swansea town centre. Its a great all around store and quite big in size. The only time that I really go in there is at Christmas time when they do the 3 for 2 on the gifts section, in which they have a wide range in the upstairs of this store, I also go in for the 2 dine for £10 offer as they have a great Food Hall, but unless you find an offer like this, or just money off, then it is expensive food shop for what it is. I dont shop in the clothes section but you can see that is quite extensive and is always well stocked and tidy.

I have been shopping in this store for over 20 years and as a family over 50. With constant sales and those two dine in for a tenner advertisements Marks and Spencer’s has lost its charm over the years. Whilst improvments have been made to the café located on the top floor and new services like a bureau de change one facet of the business has struggled to meet its high expectations. Customer service used to be top rate at the store with friendly staff who went out of their way to help. Now in a target driven world it seems like the service there is hit and miss with no continuity. There are positives in the range of clothing has increased as well as the food range but even that is rather pricey for what it is.

Marks and Spencer lately has been doing an offer of £10 every other weekend for what they call a meal for two including wine, dessert and side dish. It has been widely advertised but I would say anyone interested needs to carefully shop within the offer, depending on your choices you can get save over £10 or as little as £2. If you shop within the offer carefully it ends up as a meal for 4, large chickens have been part of the offer sometimes and ready meals that serve 4 plus they had a great cheese board in the offer last time but by lunchtime on the Saturday no cheese boards were left or restocked on sunday. Unfortunately the most expensive items in the offer do sell out very quickly and sometimes, at least in the Swansea shop, they run out of side orders and desserts making the offer no longer available early on in the day.

This is one of the largest Marks and Spencers shops that I know of and it’s pretty much a thousand times better than the one in the McArthur Glen outlet, being also a thousand times the size. It’s got clothes, stuff for the home, a café, errr, more clothes. There’s just a lot of stuff. I wouldn’t really say I’d go wandering around here for fun, but if you’re searching for something in particular then, yes, this store is good. I can go here with something in mind from their online site and there’s a pretty good chance they’ll have it in stock or, unlike Bridgend’s store, have heard of it. There’s quite a lot to look through and my only real complaint is their annoying little changes of layout that happen every once in a while.

Marks and Spencer on Oxford street in Swansea is quite a large store and does have a food store incorporated. Prices are high and I do find the selection of clothes a little boring and aimed at the older person. The food they sell is lovely but dont expect to be able to do a weeks shop here as they just dont stock enough range. Its worth noting that they dont sell anything other than their own brands. Also remember that if your buying lots of food you have to walk it all back to the car and since this store is in the middle of Swansea then that may be quite a walk. They do do good 3 for 2 offers on xmas pressies so look out for them.
