I was looking to do two things here:
1) Mail a letter;
2) Mail a bus pass;
I can say that my mission was accomplished. My boss asked me to pop a letter in the mail for her, and I did exactly that (I, of course, popped it inside the slot just outside the post office as it was more convenient). Then I needed to mail a bus pass to my ex-​flatmate who relocated to London. The clerk asked me, «First class or second class?» And I said: «The cheapest one, please.» And then that bus pass went on its way. I just received a text message from my flatmate saying: «got the pass thnx!» So it looks like everything went through alright.
