History

All great games have to start somewhere and the origins of this great game can be traced back to Norway.

The Golden Goal is a popular sports show that plays for laughs in Norway and this sport was actually created for fun by Johan Gold and Henrick Elvestad. Zorbing, the activity of rolling down a massive hill while being stuck inside a bubble has been growing in popularity of late but of course, it has a limited appeal.

The hosts of the show decided that they would try out something new and took the bubble element of zorbing and added it to football. It was a smash hit on the show and before too long; their spoof video was becoming an internet sensation thanks to YouTube and social media sharing. Very quickly, the sport was spreading like wildfire with lots of people wanting to play the game and before you knew it, the cross of football and zorbing was brought to life, which is why you are here reading all about Bubble Football.
