Kwik-Fit

I have just had a flat tyre sorted at Kwik Fit on the London Road Headington. I spoke to several different people (yesterday when I went to find out about it and today when I had the tyre done). They were all cheerful, polite and helpful. The tyre was done in less than half an hour this morning (no appointment just drove in) and cost £57. While I waited I was offered free coffee/​tea etc. I was very pleased with them.

I wouldn’t even give them 1 star! I was completely ripped-​off by them two weeks ago. Knowing little about cars, I had a puncture and went to Kwik-​Fit with the hope it could be repaired (it was a brand-​new tyre) after looking at it, they stated it was unrepairable and needed to be replaced, for a hefty £72. I chose to keep the tyre (its hard to chuck away a brand-​new tyre even if it does have a nail puncture!) and so the next time I was with my mechanic friend I’d get him to look at it. A week later, he had a look and told me it would be easily repaired by ANY independent garage. So I since got it repaired for £5. Kwik-​fit either employ «mechanics» who know nothing about cars, or it is their general policy to COMPLETELY RIP CUSTOMERS OFF. Very annoyed. Complained to Kwik-​fit and they never returned my call/​email.
