History

Established in 1600.

In the 16th Century the pub began life as a farmhouse, the farmers wife brewed ale & sold it out of the kitchen window. Then they began inviting guests to stay and a stable (now the dining Room) for visitors to «park» their horses overnight. Gradually the pub evolved into what it is today with a newly constructed heather thatched Cruck Barn at the rear in 2005, continuing the farmhouse history.
