Tapios Bar & Restaurant

I’d give this place zero if I could!
Despite booking a table days in advance, we were kept waiting in a noisy (standing room only) bar for 50 minutes.
When eventually sat, the décor and table were dirty.
Although the menu looks great the quality of the food was sub-​standard and over-​priced.
Staff weren’t attentive and the service was appalling. The owner publicly scalded staff and was also rude to guests.
Such a shame as I was hoping to make frequest visits as I love tapas and live close by!

Unfortunately I can’t give anything less than one star because it doesn’t deserve that.
I had the misfortune to visit this restaurant? very recently, I only live a short walk away. we were seated next to a window where the sill was covered in dead insects of various varieties.
The tables and chairs were shabby and uncomfortable. The background music was so loud that it was difficult holding a conversation without raising my voice.
I ordered steak for my main course, I wish I hadn’t. it was tasteless, I had to ask for English mustard to add some taste, the waitress, however, didn’t know what I was talking about.
Overall it seems that the staff at this restaurant don’t too much about the quality of the food they serve.
Despite the convenience of this establishment I won’t be going again

I visited Tapio’s for the first time this Friday with my boyfriend, we rang in advance to book a table for 9pm. When we arrived the place was heaving and it seemed very strange that considering it’s advertised as a restaurant most of the space is used as bar seating rather than restaurant space, we along with many other people waited for 30 minutes or more after the arranged booking time for a table whilst recieving hap hazard and poor service from the bar staff. The food wasn’t great and didn’t light any fires it was either deep fried or had that same overpowering white wine sauce on it and I would be inclined to say the tuna was tinned and not fresh as stated on the menu (£5.20). I would say though if you enjoy deep fried squid it was cooked to perfection. We dined on tapas and most of the dishes were an average price of £4.50. Making a one course meal with 1 glass of house plonk expensive at £35.00 for 2.
During our visit we witnessed the owner verbally disciplining staff infront of customers at least 4 poor waiters one of which told us he had been drinking most of the day. So to sum up our experience I would say it was the worst service I have witnessed in some time, a badly set out restaurant that was poorly managed and over priced. I can safely say I won’t be visiting again in the future …

This is a great place to go for a celebration/​group meal. Although, please note: ‘children are not allowed’.
It has a great atmosphere & the staff are very friendly & helpful.
Kickstart your night with a jug of sangria in the Piano Bar, you may even see a pianist in the house!
For those, who need a smoke, there are heaters on the decking outside, to keep you warm against the chill!
There are a great range of dishes to choose from, to tantalise your tastebuds, all with a mediterranean twist.
You will need to get a taxi/​lift to this place, if you are planning to have a drink.
…you could also, head to Manchester once you have dined — if you are wanting to extend your night.
