Saffron Lounge

There’s a reason this place is empty on a Friday night, the service is crazy slow. I went for dinner with some colleagues after work on a Friday night, as after having a bad meal at the Great Kathmandu we decide to give Saffron Lounge a try.
We were there nearly three hours and only managed to get the waiters attention for two rounds of drinks and our main courses. The poppadoms never arrived, and we had to ask for them to be taken off the bill. The second bill had not been calculated right, so we have to wait nearly 30mins for it to be recalculated — in which time we worked out between ourselves what we owed. The bill went back for a third time when we were ready to pay as they’d left the second round of drinks off the bill and the head waiter disagreed with how our waiter had worked out the bill.
The food itself was good, but the service was shocking considering there was at least one staff member per 4 people that particular evening. If I lived closer I’d consider getting take away, but I’d definitely phone it through ahead!

I got takeaway from here and I will be back, they have an impressive menu I would recommend things from the signature dishes as I have found them to be the best things. I will be back with friends to try out more dishes, I was a little disappointed at the vegetarian dishes but in the end I don’t expect really good vegetarian dishes unless I visit a South Indian restaurant.
I will definatly be back.
