This is a great bar, the staff are friendly, the event nights never fail to disappoint, they always have the best drag stars, the only decent gay bar outside of central London

This place is hilarious.
Nestled in the surburban-​y nowhere of South Ealing is this strange and wonderful place. I’d heard of West Five. It has an ambiguous reputation, meaning my imagination ran wild with the all kinds of grott and depravity it could be.
This place blew my expectations. I imagined some tacky bar with large dancefloor and disco-​balls galore. Some attempt to rival the Soho scene. Oh No. It’s a pub. A really big pub. Traditional pub sign hanging high outside proudly coloured in rainbow.
Inside, aside from the purple-​pink neon bar it’s your local. Good selection behind the bar and really reasonable prices. The staff are unpretentious and friendly. There’s a real feeling of community here, everyone knowing everyone, instead of everyone sleeping with everyone.
We went on a Friday, the evening started early with great entertainment. A wonderful gentleman playing you show tune classics on the stunning grand piano in one section of the bar. We moved from the dance classics to join him. He took requests and invited us up to sing. It was a wonderful atmosphere for friends catching up.
Moving on from civilised sing song and chat we take up our space on the dancefloor and get ready for the head-​liner. A fantastic caliber of drag act entertained us. Far from your dodgy man in a dress was this wonderful entertainer that warmed us up for an energetic night on the dancefloor.
This pub is great for groups. Pool table, seating, different spaces for different crowds and a good atmosphere. It’s not always very busy, even on this particular Friday it was no where near full, and it was quite clear they were mainly audience for the headline act.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s still all kinds of camp, disco balls included and the ladies leave a lot to be desired but it’s got a lot of soul.
I wish this place was not in the arse crack of no where, but I suppose if it was, it wouldn’t be the same.

This place is terrible. The place still looks awful and has expensive drinks. It’s really not worth the money and it’s better to go into town. The owner Bal (asian guy) lies through his teeth about everything I’d never trust him. He owns a gay pub but is straight. He does have a good manager and decent barmen. Wait til its owned by someone who knows what they’re doing, has clear drink prices and renovates the place.

I found this place after someone told me its a good place to goit’s situated in a residential street in South Ealing (I think?). I visited on a Saturday night and paid £6.00 to get in and was pleasantly surprised by how big it isThere is a piano lounge there but it’s not seperate from the bar area and it really didn’t work with the commercial dance music which was also playing in the bar area. The people were of mixed sex and age, and yeah I felt reasonably relaxed there.
Ideal place to go if you’re staying with friends in the area but can’t imagine going there again, purely because of the distance out of townif you don’t like it, you’re a bit screwed, particularly if you paid an entrance fee and then journey fee to go somewhere else

This is a cute spot. The only gay bar i know of in Ealing. I came here with friends for karaōke night and found we came on the wrong day! oops! but we still had fun with the pool tables, 1.50 happy hour till 10pm (only on fridays) and we did have a piano player who would do requests, sing-​a-​longs and I did my first solo in 10+ years! Good times!

This is my favorite gay venue in the whole of London!
The place is just great, it’s big, got friendly staff and something for everyone. Bingo nights, karaōke nights, quiz nights, DJ’s, drag shows, a massive garden, a piano lounge, big dance floor, comfy sofas, yeah, everything you could wish for when you want a night out!
Another reason for this being my favorite place is that the people who go there seems more relaxed than in central London. Less artificial and pretentious. There is also a big mix between girls and boys, women and men, straights and gays, in all ages!
If you want a good and fun night out, or just somewhere to chill, this is your place!

It’s a gay bar in an unexpected place — think of KuBar in the pub building of something that used to be a Harvester. It has a little piano area, a smoking outhouse, and a really cold garage that’s optimistically styled as a bar, but is really a shed. The main bar area is pretty nicely done and sells a range of bog standard drinks (pricier than they should be for zone 3, IMHO) to a friendly crowd. Age range is pretty broad, mainly guys, and has that slightly parochial feeling over everyone knowing each other well. Intimately in fact.
Note that the location on Google maps is wrong. It’s on Pope’s Lane but much closer to Ealing South.

Prob not everyones cup o’tea being a gay bar but don’t knock it till you tried it. Friendly crowd, quite tastefully done out and pretty cool disco/​club nights. Only down side is location but buses and taxis pretty easy to come by. Doesn’t really get going till 10.30−11pm weekends.
