Vintage Bean Cafe

I REALLY like Vintage Bean, which is handy as it’s on the same road as my house :)
I went in a few weeks ago (yep — I didnt even know it was there #fail), and a little hungover I cracked a joke about wanting a beer. Cue tumbleweeds and looks of ‘wtf?’.
Anyway, once the scandal of badjokegate had disappeared, I got myself a very lovely Latte and Americano. This particular roast was a medium with spicy flavours, and being Indian, obviously I loved it!!!
Looking around, I did feel like I had been there before but couldnt put my finger on when exactly.
Anyway, the lady who owns it is lovely and we spoke about possibly using her venue to do some filming in the near future!
Again, I wish more of the «local» coffee houses were open earlier so I could get some on the way to work, but this way allows me to limit myself to one (OK, maybe two), a week :)

My boyfriend and I went in for cake and coffee for £4 and ended up ordering a second round of cake and coffee… it was that good.
I like the big-​name bakeries like Magnolia or Hummingbird, but the sticker-​shock and sugar rush is sometimes too much. Here, the chocolate hazelnut fudge cake was a moist, heavenly light yet deeply chocolate layer cake with chocolate frosting and hazelnuts sprinkled on top. The cake had an amazing crumb and not a sweet sugar rush/​toothache!
We scraped up all the crumbs and promptly ordered a second cake to try. Cappuccino was very smooth and mellow, not overly bitter. The second cake was a moist mixed-​berry cake that hit the right notes of sweet cake and sour berries. We were tempted to try what looked like a Portuguese Pasteis de Belem, but were getting rather full.
Only about 12£ for three slices of delicious cake, two cappuccinos, and one large mug of black tea. They also sell big cookies and seem to have a nice lunch menu as well.
Cozy, inviting atmosphere with a sofa and magazines. There’s an outside garden (open during temperate weather) and downstairs seating. No free WiFi.
