My mum and I stumbled across this place in Marylebone, and we’re so happy we did! The service was really great, we felt really welcome and well looked after. We both went for the hot & cold meze option which was absolutely enormous. The food was in the main delicious, particulary the cold meze. For its location the prices are pretty reasonable too.

A delightful find. Madame and I were in London. Our flat was a few blocks from Marylebone High Street. We were hungry and it was 3 in the afternoon on a Saturday. Lots of places to eat on Marylebone High Street, but this just looked good. And it was. We had the cold/hot mezzo for 2. The cold definitely better than the hot. But both were good. The standard fare — well seasoned, not too oily, flavors coaxed out. That and a couple of beers and we were well sated when we left. Ready to continue the London adventure. The London adventure being made up of walking everywhere. According to our Jawbone UP devices we were averaging about 8 miles of walking per day.

Love this place, been coming since I was a baby and have such a great meal every time. The staff are fantastic and very friendly and the food is incredible especially the Borek and doner. Can’t wait for my visit tonight!

2.5 stars. We are just not impressed. The filopastries are under fried/cooked, and when we asked? They are supposed to be like that. Aubergine was undercooked and wasn’t ripe enough, no flavour. The bottled water tasted great! The staff was friendly. 4 starters and 1 main kofte to share £49 Give me Numera 19 in Islington… anytime!!!

This is hands down my favorite restaurant in London. The grilled entrees are wonderful, house wines dependable, salads refreshing, environment spotless, staff members welcoming and warm, and surroundings pleasant. I love the location — situated south of Baker Street on a wonderful street filled with charming, elegant shops. I’m all about Topkapi. Great, great value. No surly wait staff. Mostly flavorful, hot, nourishing food — served with pride.

I’ve eaten inside many times(both for lunch and for dinner) and the food has always been delicious — I usually order the typical Turkish dishes(moussaka, humus, eggplant salad, yogurt & cucumber salad). The prices are quite reasonable for Marylebone High Street and the service has been consistently excellent — polite and quick. I highly recommend the place but my advice is to stick to the traditional Turkish items — my friends who tried some of the other items on the menu said they were OK but kind of bland.

I’ve been to this restaurant quite a few times — regularly with my parents(and we spent many a year on holiday in Turkey and my Dad worked in Istanbul too) and I’ve also introduced a few friends to the place too and they have loved it. I would highly recommend this place for authentic Turkish food at great value prices particularly as it’s located right in the heart of Marylebone High Street! Their meze offer is amazing but to warn you it is huge and you may need to be rolled out of the restaurant! The service is quick, efficient and friendly. Definitely recommend but highly recommend coming hungry and sharing as much of the delicious food as you can with your companions!

I have been coming to this restaurant for fifteen years now. My father was initially brought here by a Turkish colleague of his and my family have been fans of Topkapi ever since. It’s pretty much on our«Must Do» list every time we’re in London. Our usuals are the hummus and the doner kabobs. We also had the shish kabobs this time. The food has always been amazing, the service is always fast and super friendly, and restaurant is just as warm and cozy as I remember it being when I was ten. It’s still consistently marvelous which is saying a lot after fifteen years. I absolutely love this restaurant and will still be coming here every time I go to London.

I’m a local and this is my favourite restaurant on Marylebone High Street. Excellent food(the meat melts in your mouth, and the prawns are equally outstanding) and fantastic service there is no other restaurant in the area where I feel as welcome as in Topkapi! Regardless of the hour or how busy they are, there is always a prioprietor near the entrance who greets you warmly and makes sure you have a great seat. Top pick in Marylebone for good quality, reasonably-priced food(by Marylebone standards, that is) and excellent service.

So i’m in London. Its cold and rainy(surprise) and I’m starving. Thank God for Unilocal, there’s a kabob place right up the street, Topkapi. Its a small, but cozy(even had a nice fire burning in the back), restaurant with the kitchen in the front and a nice display case full of various fresh kabobs waiting to be grilled. I got a large chicken kabob(2 skewers) which was a nice amount of perfectly cooked chicken. Wanting to add a bit of veggies I got the aubergine salad. This was a delicious blend of eggplant, garlic and i think cucumber. Yum! I asked for the chili sauce and was glad i did. Rather than the sharp/hot/pungent stuff we get at the local falafel joint, this was a smoky, mild, wonderfully tasting item that i proceeded to put on everything. It was terrific on the chicken, its was amazing on the eggplant. It took a great meal and made it even better. The chefs were friendly and helpful in answering my many questions. If I have time, i’ll definitely come back. Have to try the lamb next.

Kebab stuffed in pita bread, loaded with salad, sprinkled with chilli and garlic sauce. Yummy. I’ve had their kofte and doner kebabs. Can’t wait to go back to try Iskendar next. This place seems like a nice neighbourhood restaurant. I’ve only done takeaway here and it’s good stuff. The guys behind the counter are friendly and they always greet you with a smile when I walk in(which has been several times this week). It’s open quite late and it’s perfect for those of us who either worked too late or partied too late. Did I mention that the prices are pretty good for being on Marylebone High Street?

I think this is the best Turkish restaurant central London by far. The atmosphere inside is so authentic and you can banter with the waiters as part of their friendly welcome! Make sure someone on your table orders the Shesh Tavok(chicken breast pieces) and dont forget to ask the waiters for a recommendation. The prices for dishes are above average but this is because they’re located in swanky Marylebone High Street. At least there are plenty of taxi’s in the area during the evenings to whisk you back home afterwards.

I’ve never eaten inside here, but I’ve had the kabobs to go after long drinking sessions at the pub across the street(Marylebone Tup). This place is open late and good for stopping by if your hungry after the local pubs close. I give it four stars because the food tastes good when you are drunk and the portions are huge.

Possibly the best Turkish restaurant in London. Food is unpretentious, copious and delicious(try the Topkapi Chicken Special). Always recommend the calamar, aubergine, and hummus to start. Couple of Efes go down extremely well too. You are unlikely to find a better restaurant for this price!
