Excellent grilled cheese and fries to go with your drink. Friendly staff and great environment, must visit when at Borough Market.

Really great borough market bar. Even popular when the market is closed. Typical youngs pub offerings with a young atmosphere. They have a nice courtyard with a food can. A great standby for a pint in the market, or after work. Much better than most city bars.

The food was fantastic and the staff also very friendly. I would’ve given 4 stars except they took my not yet finished drink away before I had a chance to finish it. I added a second star as they did give me a half pint for free as an apology when I complained.

I just like this place. Yes it’s busy and a tad more than I’d like to pay for drinks but the outside space redeems it and it’s the go to place in the area I’d say. Have you read their menu? It’s puntastic. Favourite of mine ‘Burger She Wrote’. They give you a flat cap when you order food. Hilarity. If you have a train going from London Bridge the times are displayed on a screen in the courtyard. Clever, ey.

I visited this bar last night and really enjoyed the atmosphere. For a Thursday night, it was bustling. The music was fun and lively and the other clients seemed to be having a good time. I cannot attest to the service, as I met someone who had a drink waiting for me. However given the fun vibe and excellent location, I will absolutely be returning soon.

This is a really modern pub now. There’s not much charm to it unfortunately. I never got round to frequenting it before the railway burrowed through its upper floor so I cannot really compare it to the former incarnation so i am guessing to some extent when i say it looked like it might have been a rather charming place. Still the outside space is certainly interesting and you can do a lot worse than Young’s beers.

Went in for a pint with a friend last night and was quite disappointed. It may look good on the surface, décor, selection of beers on tap, etc,…but I won’t be going back in a hurry. 80’s rock music on the stereo, fruitflies all over the place(I did mention this to the barmaid, who gave me a withering look) and possibly the most expensive round of 2 pints and 2 packets of crisps in London(£13, if you’re interested). I think a visit to the other Wheatsheaf, The Rake or Market porter will be in order next time I’m in the area.

The Wheatsheaf is one of those pubs that are very much on the spirit of the time: the décor is chick, but yet casual and as I found on my last visit it attracts the after work bankers and office workers. The nice thing about the Wheatsheaf is its outdoor area(open for smokers), which — with its rustic look — is very comfortable to sit in. Be careful: there’s another Wheatsheaf just around the corner(on 24 Southwark Street), which is actually where I was waiting for my friend when he suggested to meet at the Wheatsheaf.
