The Village

I have not visited this place for late night festivities, only for pizza and drinks at the bar or for an earlier evening stop-​in. I have heard that later on in the night, this place gets a little crazy.
For a dinner spot, I love The Village! Good pizza, even though the menu is somewhat limited. They have a brick oven that helps create a crispy yet chewy crust, paired with quality ingredients and you really can’t go wrong. The service has been a little slow that past few times we have been, but not a huge deal. This is a great alternative to some of the stuffier more pricy options that Musewell Hill has to offer. Check it out for an early evening and good pizza.

Great pub, good atmosphere especially on a Friday and Saturday night, this is me and my husband’s local and we are regulars here. The only drawback is they removed the 2 4 1 pizza deal which was amazing before! Also prices of drinks a little high but has a pool table which is nice.

Went here the other night for a drink. First off the place smelt like beer from the night before (and this was a Monday). We ordered 2 pimms from the bar. The bartender answered her cell phone and started speaking on the phone while pouring the drinks so left and passed it over to another bartender. Our 2 pimms came to £11.70 and it was purely pimms with lemonade — no cucumber, mint or strawberries like you’d expect at that price. We went to sit down outside and the tables were all covered in crumbs and dirt. We were going to order some appetizers but after this were put off. Although I live just around the corner I won’t be coming back. I’d recommend taking the walk down to Highgate station to the Woodman where you can sit on the patio with a nice glass of pimms and all the trimmings for about £4 each.

This is a great place during the week and on the weekends. During the week they do 241 on pizzas 6−10pm, mon-​thur. The pizzas are amazing. As well as other offers on drinks and at lunchtime. It’s chilled and relaxed with an outdoor area for smokers or if you just wanna enjoy the sun and watch Muswell Hill go by.
They have pool tables, which are always open and plasmas and a big screen for football, but it’s not a huge football place, they seperate areas, which is nice.
On the weekends it’s free entry and open til 2am with a DJ and a dancefloor.

Should I have shaved or at least worn smarter clothes? Should I go with my passport as well for ID? In my case it was I should have brought my pimp costume and some «lady-​friends» because they were expecting each guy to be with at least 2 females or with a partner! This is what the bouncer’s telling us on a lad’s night out… Cheers mate!
After a lot of stupidity and unofficial partnerships with the local talent we were in, sadly my blind date was not sticking around, and some with the lads were sticking around too much. Anyway the club is slicker than your average in size, it is quite nice in there so I’m not going to knock it this early. Nice low leather couches to perch or squat on, wooden floors and marble add to that bourgeois appeal. The bar is a long black glossy stunning piece of work, unlike the drinks. The bartenders didn’t seem to ever serve down our way and the news was shocking when they did come, £4.00 a pint which wasn’t even a proper pint and £7.00 a mixer… single mixer! You stop and think b*ll**ks to this I could of gone uptown at these prices! There’s a nice selection of beverages though, so even if you plan on leaving here broke or short you won’t be upset with the cocktails.
Then the DJ I think was off form and slightly better than dull. Nothing wrong with the dance-​floor fillers or cheese but not all night mate! I heard one remotely cool R’n’B song and I danced like a Zulu warrior ready for battle, two minutes later I was old rusty legs again in the corner… It’s hard to understand, it’s really suave, spacious, and a little bit nice in here. Really plush patio for the smokers with chairs and tables in addition to garden umbrellas for the bad weathers leaves you thinking its sooo well set up! I have to give it some credit though, if you can find a DJ with two hands and a brain and bartenders who look out more for customers than their reflection on the glossy bar surface you will have an ace night here. I guess it really is the people after all… I suggest you hire this place out or go West-​End!

This bar is one of the most pretentious bars I have been in outside the Square Mile. If you’re the kind of person who will sit over an empty glass for 3 hours because you can’t afford your rent, let alone a beer, because you’ve just spent half your months wages on a gucci bag, then this is probably the place for you. For the seasoned drinker, however, this will probably be mildly irritating.
The bar is massive though, and has a couple of pool tables which are fun during a mid-​afternoon session when many of the ‘yuppies’ are not about. The weekend it gets a bit wild with bouncers on the doors to keep packs of guys (minus the ladies) out, and it just gets a little too busy for my liking.
Would I go back there? Yes, but only during happy hour!

Over 21’s and you will be thrown out of wearing shorts, even if they are trendy brazilian football shorts and it’s during the world cup and brazil are playing! Extremely busy disco atmosphere most friday, saturday nights it has a late licence and can be alot of fun. Also has propper pizza oven with 2 for 1 deals on selected days. Try the one with guacamole dolloped in the middle it’s absolutely delicious. It’s reputation is good and people travel to come here although I’m not sure how many people from Muswell Hill actually go there on a Friday. With many plasma screens can be a nice place to watch the footy on a Sunday afternoon though. Or sit out front with a cocktail and watch some north london traffic come and go.

Nice pub-​warm atmosphere. It gets very crowded in the weekend. Id is required– over 21’s only in the weekend. Music is played-​there is a dj and there is a dance floor everyone ends up dancing on. There is plenty of seating and a large balcony in the front for smokers (this gets particularly crowded).
