The story says that there were only a few people going to this church to pray, and that they finally decided to turn it into a pub… So let me tell you, the atmosphere in this pub is just fucking AWESOOOOME !!! Who would believe that he would have a pint in a church one day ?? The place is huge with one floor, the drinks are not so expensive, and the people are very friendly there ! I’ve actually met lots of people inside and i’ve spent my entiere night with my new friends ! Just a VERY nice place to start your evening !!!

We had a terrible evening where we were suprise how racist and rude the bartender man. Also when we try to speak with the manager about it, he defended the bartender without an apology and similar attitude. Dissapointing…

‘Just another O’Neill’s’ but this one is in a church, and is rather grand. There’s an upstairs area that is like a terrace that overlooks the downstairs, and the atmosphere is really nice. Not the cosiest place but the space means you can still breathe and move around, and still hear the person standing next to you even when it’s busy.

What?! A pub, inside a church?! Seriously?! We just moved to the Crouch End area and I certainly foresee us returning on numerous occasions. There is something so sacrilegious about drinking and dinning in a previously used religious establishment, but you can not help yourself. The building itself is beautiful. The bartenders and staff are attentive and knowledgeable. They also have a wide range of items on the menu, from tapas, to burgers, to full entrée dinners. Definitely check this place out if you are in the area.

If you fancy a good pint of beer in former church ONeils Muswell Hill is the place. They serve average quality food though

I love this pub! Particularly I enjoy its atmosphere and interior design! Drinks are not too expensive. It is a great local place to hangout for a night out!

I really love this place. It used to be church and converted to a pub. The astmosphere is charming. If you have never been there, I strongly recommend you to go and have a drink in there. You will love it.

This former church retains most of it’s original features and is split into several levels and ‘secret’ areas. Bar service is about average with many fashionable drinks alongside the old favourites. During the day it’s locals and shoppers, while later on the customers are mainly on the young side — hence the security and bouncers who stop anyone wearing hats, caps and hoodies from entering. If you enjoy interesting surroundings while you sup, try this one for size.

Massive pub inside an old church(ironic). Good food, fairly priced booze, good staff, and live music every week.

I will try to judge this pub on its own merits, although not being a fan of O’Neills, my expectations are low. The building is beautiful, built at the turn of the 19th/20th century(is it the turn of the 19th or 20th, not sure which one is turning) it is a beautiful church. Sorry Sinan, it is only one century old. I personally find it a little sacrilegious, but a building is just a building. The décor has to be the best bit of this pub, gorgeous wooden interiors, large open space, it is a lovely situation to sit and drink, and that’s where it gets 1 star. The other star comes from being relatively cheap. Chain prices mean cheap food deals(£3.50 for beer and a burger), but then it goes down hill from here… It gets busy at weekends, needs a bouncer or two on the door, and always has kids trendies on the steps. Never a good sign for a pub. The guinness is AWFUL, so awful it would be recognised by the guinness world records as such, ironically! How they claim to be an Irish bar I never knew, but this is officially the worst guinness in London(for the best, try the coach and horses on Great Marlborough Street — Not the best pub in the world, but the best black stuff). The food is really quite crap, BUT to be fair to them, when you pay so little for a burger what do you expect? It has taste and substance(unlike the guinness). I know a lot of people like this place, but I think they’re being taken in by the beauty of the building. I guess it has atmosphere if you take your mates, but so does anywhere, otherwise it is quite an anonymous place with slow staff. Good place to start a night out, but move on very quickly!

This was the first place I had dinner when I arrived in London as a poor American student, and where I found myself many a weekend. I loved the airy atmosphere, and it never seemed packed, even when it was.

Most people have heard of O’Neil’s, it is probably one of the largest pub/bar franchise known of. But the one in Muswell Hill is extra special, and definitely the best one that I have been to. From outside, you would think it is a Church, this is probably due to the fact that it once was, the Church must have been built hundreds of years ago, you can tell by the brick work. What I like most is that they have kept the look of the Church inside, with the wooden floors and banisters. There is some upstairs seating around the edges of the building, more like balconies, and when standing downstairs and looking up, you see how big the building is. When I first heard that a pub bought a Church out, I was quite shocked, especially baring in mind how old the Church was and what would now be taking place. Looking at it now, it is kind of wrong to convert a place of worship into the complete opposite, a place of consumerism, drinking and fighting. Though every time I have been, it has been very nice. They have a real cheap lunch menu and drinks are cheap too.

I always like the idea of getting drunk in a converted church pup, it’s just so, sacrilegious! It’s a very nice building, with airy, impressive balconies, little platform areas with comfy couches and nice wooden staircases. It’s a little version of an Escher sketch, well it seems this way after I’ve had a few glasses of wine anyway. It’s great for getting a bottle, settling down in the huge leather couches and whiling away a few hours, that usually turn into most of the night. As it’s so large I don’t suffer from that itchy cabin fever which makes me want to move on somewhere else. I could happily spend the night here. The bar staff are friendly, if a little slow which can be annoying when you’re dying to get back to your conversation with the rest of the bunch. It does get very busy later on, so we usually come early to bag a nice spot as standing at the high tables or having to balance on one of the wobbly steel stools is not nearly as enjoyable.

This is such an interesting pub. It is actually a former church(hence the name) and the interior is spectacular. Prices are reasonable and the pub has a quiz machine.

O’Neils is a great pub. Great atmosphere. Great food. Great all around. It’s an Irish pub(you might have guessed) and the Guinness is very cold. I find it refreshing! Revitalisation by Guinness! The food in there is really tasty and the burgers are too die for. The colcanon potatoes are amazing as well. They do specials all the time and the tapas are a really good deal. I love the chorizo. You can watch sports on the big screens if you so desire but this is a middle of the road pub and has a good vibe for dates as well. O’Neils maintains it’s church façade and is a deeply religious experience. Well, it’s a damn good pub.

The O’Neills chain are a chain of Irish Bars in the UK. Although they claim to have a traditional Irish menu, this isn’t the case, but it’s not necessarily a bad thing. This O’Neills is in a converted Church, which gives the venue a unique atmosphere. They have a large screen for Sports, and you can forget about having a drink and a chat once the sport is on. The have a decent selection of beers/wines, and the service isn’t bad.

A very strange pub which used to be a church which is a novelty enough for any visitors I have to want to go there. They show all important football matches here although bizzarely and much to the annoyance of many fans often without the volume. I think the gaffer is more of a rugby fan. They seem to be trying to push live music here but the quality of act here is generally abysmal! There was recently an armed robbery here.

This is just another branch of the O’Neill’s brand, but it does have a little something different to offer — the fact that it is located in an old converted church. This means there are lots of interesting choices for seats up in the galleries, but the high high ceilings don’t exactly give it an intimate feel.
