The Hill is a fantastic little gem in Forest Hill. It’s a bit farther up the hill next to the station than the more well-known gastro-pub, but it’s worth it. They have a great menu that changes seasonally, as well as a new bartender that puts out seasonal cocktails. We’ve had steak as well as a roasted shoulder of lamb from the dinner menu, and both were excellent. As many cocktails are 2 for £10, it’s very affordable as well. If you’re in the area, and you’re looking for good food in a quiet, comfortable restaurant with a full bar — this does the job very nicely.

An excellent pub Restaurant. It’s a small pub with a very quirky and unusually colourful décor. Characterful and very friendly staff with a great family vibe. The food however is astounding. Freshly made pizzas that taste fantastic and burgers that are larger than your head. Plus huge Sunday roast dinners. I also never manage to spend over £10 a meal on food. Which in London is pretty darn good. Whilst it has a limited number of beers on tap due to being a small business. They have a large menu of cocktails to compensate however, whilst not my style of drink. I’ve heard are great. The work with the local community in forest hill, plus they often have live piano at weekends. If you want a good burger for a great price. Head here.
