The Dean Swift

We used to really like this pub but I would discourage anyone from returning.
We went in at 10:45 the other day, and after a wait, were served a pint each. After the drinks had been poured and we had paid, we were then told we had 15 minutes left… we assumed that this would be for last orders and that we would have drink-​up time, however 5 minutes later we were again told that we only had 10 minutes to drink an entire pint and get out of the building.
When we voiced our concern to the barman about the fact that we had only just bought our drinks he gave us a shirty response of ‘yes 15 minutes is more than enough time to drink a pint’. Now I’m not sure about other Unilocalers, but 15 minutes to down a pint is quite a big challenge for a 5’1″ girl. Talk about encouraging binge drinking…
We again told the barman that we would not have bought a pint had we known before this, and could we have a partial refund, which he point blank refused. He then said he needed our glasses immediately (with 5 minutes spare on the clock), and picked up my boyfriends beer and chucked it away. We asked about the glasses of all the other people still drinking in the pub, and he said they would need to drink up too.
We told him how disappointed we were with the customer service, and that we would reconsider coming again, to which he proudly replied ‘cool, please don’t!’.
Bad barman. What a shame.

Its really good here, quite a small building and it feels like going round to a mate’s front room. They also have Brew Dog IPA, on tap, which may well now be my favourite drink

This pub is quite nice, with a mix of locals and LSE students from the nearby halls of residence. There’s a selection of board games and a good quiz night.
