St. Patrick’s College

My partner suffered so much mental strain as a student here in this college. throughout the time he studied there, i saw how it turned his wide eyed interest of learning and wanting of soaking up as much education as possible, turned his life a nightmare. Any classes that he attends, he felt was like a jungle. The lecturers had no sense of control of the room. Both mass quantity and poor skills are to blame from this college. i remember my partner working on an assignment, almost took him 3 weeks to put together, the presentation, a hard copy that contain almost 45 pages documentation, he handed to a lecturer to mark and he waited for a very long time only to find out the lecturer had lost it and missed his due date for the assignment.
It was utterly disgusting. When he was chasing up exam results and there was a problem with remarking his papers, nobody ever bothered to direct him to the correct people. the quotes he would receive and until this day still angers me was «Sorry, this isn’t related to my department, you need to go to the department that can handle your concerns» … and with that, they would dismiss his complaints and struggle when he was asking for help to find answers!
They took money from him, as a means of fees and whatnot. but he never gained or benefited from this Hellish, Demonic, disgusting College. All students that attended there were doomed or had not had the choice. A friend of his almost COMMITTED SUICIDE due to the fact all of his family’s money from abroad was used to continue his studies … and when he found out how poorly this college was run and wanted to leave the course, he had no choice but to continue as he had no other college to possibly afford to transfer…
DISGUSTING, UTTER DISGRACE of being a higher education PROVIDER!

Low quality College for foreign «student» (40 – 65 years olds) from Africa (99%). Teachers are very unprofessional with very strong asian accents. 99% of students are from Africa and if you are white, be prepeared to be insulted on daily basis. All of them are racists toward any white person… Waisted 1 year of my life in that terrible place… Nightmare…

Before someone accuses me of being a disgruntled student, check Google for more reviews of this college. Almost all the reviews you find rate this college poorly.
St.Patrick’s (international) college can best be described as «awful». The problem with this college is that it’s primary focus is on making money. This results in them taking on too many students, milking them for every last penny they have and generally forgetting about them thereafter. They have excellent partner universities, and offer their courses at a discounted price, but St. Patrick’s college fails to deliver when it comes to teaching aspect.
As part of its recruitment plan, the college recruits students from other colleges that have gone bankrupt. They ask for a small fee from the students (in my case it was £500) to complete the course that they started at their previous college. I was in this situation and took them up on their offer when the college I studied at went bankrupt.
The madness started with the induction. Totally disorganised and about 100+ students crammed into a room suitable for 40 at most. The lectures basically consisted of being spoon-​fed some drivel from a textbook, then proceeded by a shoddy PowerPoint presentation, and finally a meaningless task. There were no debates in class, no real group work, and the module guide was treated like the Bible — no room to think outside of the guidelines.
The lecturers were quite good (they were friendly, approachable and punctual), but they lacked any industry experience; all their knowledge was obtained through academia. None of the lecturers I had worked in the industry related to the modules they were teaching, so this meant they couldn’t really engage us. The college was too busy trying to make money to even care.
There were two lecturers (I don’t want to disgrace them so I won’t name them) that were truly shocking — they had no clue whatsoever about the module they were teaching. Utterly disgraceful.
The college is trying to turn things around and improve its image, but I feel it’s still too much of a gamble. This place has a money culture, and that is usually bad news for students.
