Chana masala roll, £4.75, one seriously addictive lunch. More a takeaway place as there’s only a couple of tables to squash around. No nonsense, no frills, just good cheap tasty food.

I’ve never had the curries here and never eaten in but come here often to take away because the doner meat and chips are AMAZING if you like spicy food. It’s not just doner meat — it’s tossed with sauce and chillies and peppers and onions and coriander and everytime I eat it, I feel glad I’m not a vegetarian(I often think about going veggie). It’s cheap, plentiful and a really special kebab of yum. If you have no tolerance for spice though I wouldn’t bother.

Great food, friendly service, but lacks seating for groups — it’s the only draw back from such a great wee indian restaurant

I have to say I am baffled as to why this place has good reviews as I though it sucked an unfathomable amount of testicles. Kind of weird passive aggressive vibes from the people in the restaurant — they forced us to sit by the window in a way I found a little bit odd. Then there was the food… granted we turned up quite late, but that is no excuse to serve us the kind of shameful slop that was put in front of us. Two prawn curries, a vindaloo and a madras which only had the flavour of white pepper and contained those small ready cooked prawns you find in supermarkets. Shameful business, and that’s not even mentioning the tandoori mixed grill which was just a dry inexcusable waste of animal life… just send us away next time please, for the love of god…

I can’t say enough good things about the food or the service in this place. Both were top notch all around.

Absolutely agree with Andrew! Very unassuming place; what i LOVED and MISSED from Curry Hill in NYC… what we call … «a whole in the wall» and a «best kept secret» Bombay sizzling puts out food for the hungry!!! bring an empty stomach, and BIG hungry eyes, b/c there is generosity and taste to boot; in Drummond street! Lamb Biryani, and ANY biryani are delish; also super tasty dishes, are the creamed dahl(side) — lentils, Chana(the chickpeas); the mixed veggie(which was very much a favorite… a mix of potatoes and peas). The cucumber raita is a-ok, but the mint sauce is hot and sweet, a very welcome addition to the biryani. will ABSOLUTELYBEBACK!!!

The chicken vindaloo is very good and reasonably priced. for 5 or 6 pounds a person, you can be full for days. This place tastes just as good if not better than the other Indian places that surround it, but you get more for your money at this place. The service here is second to none. I would definitely come back here.
