Do not go here. The food was bland, and at best lukewarm. The mango lassi gave me a sore throat. The waiters were trying to pressure us into ordering more food than we wanted. The toilets were filthy. So many better restaurants on this street, think they just get people in who are looking for meat. That’s why we went. Should have just had veggie.

Overall this place was not up to my Indian standards. I ordered two starters and was told everything would come out at the same time besides requesting otherwise. The food was subpar. The samosas were tiny, not warm, and tasted like they were from the frozen section of a grocery store. I also felt like our waiter was stalking our table the entire meal, but he never asked how the food was. I would not go back.

Chilli paneer(according to the world): Indo chinese dish of deep fried paneer tossed with green peppers, sometimes onions, green chillies, ginger et all. A DRY preparation. Chilli paneer(according to Drummond villa) A yellow looking CURRY of tiny pieces of panner, visibly cooked in yogurt, mildly sweet, few floating pieces of green peppers. Need I say more about the food ? I rest my case.

If you’ve ever walked Drummond Street you’ll know that it truly is a mecca for Indian Cuisine, and while some of the surrounding establishments do serve better food accompanied by a better atmosphere, Drummond Villa is one of the better options that isn’t vegetarian(as most of the top Indian establishments on Drummond are) Primarily, the service at Drummond Villa really is impressive. I was greeted by a man who appeared to be either the manager or the owner, and he was very attentive and kind throughout my entire stay. Food was delivered promptly and the manager/owner showed personal attention to every single customer in the restaurant. As for the food, it was okay. I ordered a spicy Vindaloo dish that could have been spicier, and I was a slight bit disappointing to find that the flavor was more in line with some of the cheaper establishments I’d been to, tasting as though the curry sauce was canned or mass-produced. Overall, my experience at Drummond Villa was a positive one, especially because I was in the mood for a meat-dish. However, the vegetarian options lining Drummond really are more worthy of customers time and money.
