History

Established in 1932.

The story of Savvy & Sand began in 1932 in a small workshop in Greater London. Working exclusively on bespoke commissions, elegant fine jewellery was created using precious gemstones sourced from Burma, Sri Lanka and South America. In 1938, diamonds were sourced for the workshop, which were used to create regal necklaces and elegant rings, each diamond painstakingly handset to bring life to each piece. As the workshop flourished, the skills and designs of the master artisan evolved into elaborate articles of jewellery; hand-​etched detailing, use of large diamonds and precious gems to elaborately decorate each piece and use of unusual crafting techniques for definition — much of which is used in designs created by Savvy & Sand today.

As the years passed, the small workshop became a flourishing boutique, welcoming a global clientele, from whom inspiration was taken to create further collections based on the stories of their travels.
