Really great, very reasonably priced sushi. The Tobico Gunkan is a personal favourite but you are spoiled for choice. The loyalty cards are a nice touch and the staff are very friendly.

Just been for my usual Spicy Chicken Curry. They’ve replaced the plastic boxes with cups. Now you get a cup with an abundance of rice and a little chicken on top. Once you’ve eaten what’s on top all you have left is a cup full of rice. Unfortunately, the quality has dropped too. Some of the chicken tasted like cardboard. All this after they raised their prices 40p a couple of weeks back. Overall, prices up, portions down, quality down.

Excellent value, especially if it’s raining, you’re cold and wet and you want to get some hot, tasty grub down you along with some nice stodgy rice to replenish the energy levels — £5 meal deal including bottle of Coke or water — bargain. The place is bright and cheerful, you can have more esoteric menu items if you want and the staff are friendly and welcoming — excellent and recommended.

Good value sushi to eat in or take-away. Much in the same vein as Wasabi. The hot food is very filling and pretty well-priced at about £4.50 and includes rice or noodles. You are not charged extra for eating in here, unlike Wasabi. However the quality of the sushi isn’t quite as good as some other places. The rice in the nigiri is quite stodgy.

I happened to walk past this recently opened bento and sushi place around lunch time and the shelves full of colorful and well organised food caught my eyes I ended buying lunch for take away(there are 4 small tables for up to 4 people each but hard to share) and had a very good and copious lunch for £6. The bento boxes are the best value and very good(as long as you like chicken in various versions — teryaki, sweet&sour, etc. and rice). I have a feeling that we will see more and more of these places open as they offer tasty, affordable and warm food at a decent price. This may — at least in winter — become an increasingly appealing proposition compared to the hords of Pret-A-Manger popping up at every corner. I had a couple of sushis too and they were fresh and pretty good, and so was the miso soup. I will be back whenever I happen to be in the area at lunch time.

If you’re in need of a meal or snack in the vicinity of Leicester Square or Covent Garden the choice is overwhelming… On my way to a meeting I spotted this little restaurant/take away on a busy weekday lunchtime. I didn’t have time to stop there and then but earmarked it for later on and returned at the end of my(and their) busy day. There was still a good choice of sushi and hot dishes available. I opted for my favourite Ikura sushi(salmon roe) and a triangular salmon wrap accompanied by some cooked spinach and a couple of ginger sachets. I helped myself — as you do — and was served speedily and courteously at the till. The total was £4.55 for a light and healthy cross between a snack and supper. I’d return — although it wasn’t the best I’d ever tasted — it was very convenient and reasonably priced.
