Amazing place for lunch. Always a que which is a great sign I think(it moves very quickly). Delicious and they give big portions. If you don’t want the pitta with your salad you get extra falafel. Would really recommend!

Another Pilpel has set up shop in the City. This one is tiny though… and on top of that, it’s quite hidden in a small alley off Fleet Street. The first time I only found this place, as a lovely staff member was handing out falafels to taste on Fleet Street, right by the«hidden» alley. Brillant! As already mentioned in my other Pilpel reviews, I like to go with the boxed-salad option instead of putting everything in a pita bread.(Or, like Becky H calls it: the deconstructed falafel sandwich ;-) I typically ask for extra spicy and I like to add an egg… and if I feel really decadent, I will also add some guacamole. Although I’m very happy that Pilpel has opened another dependance in the City, I still scold the management for not opening up a shop in W1. If you read this, Pilpel management, the lunch options in Marylebone are not adequate and I demand you opening a Pilpel near my office!

Wow! The falafels here are amazingly good! An excellent choice for a takeaway lunch. I’m usually not a huge fan of falafels, as the ones I’ve had are hard, dry and crumbly. At Pilpel, they’ve got their secret family recipe locked down, and they’ve got it right! The falafels are fresh, hot and crispy on the outside, flavourful and moist on the inside. I think they have couscous mixed in there, along with some pesto, maybe parsley? In any case, it’s delicious! You can have it served up in a wrap(4 pieces), or deconstructed in a bowl(6 pieces) with assorted salads and hummous, and pita on the side. I love my veggies, but I’m personally not a huge fan of their salads, which is a bit of a downfall. They were mainly bland and lacked flavor. If you wanted other items like roasted eggplant or guacamole, its an extra 50p. I notice that an extra 4 pieces of falafel is £1(I think?!). I’m not sure if you can order extra if you didn’t order an actual wrap or salad box. But if I can just order falafels on their own, that’s what I would do next time. The people working here are super friendly and even pass out fresh falafels to snack on while you wait. Now that’s service!
