A serious little 3-floor beauty delight! I am a previous client of No 74 having been in a few years ago for a cut and color, and a very nice Yonka facial. Then I had a baby, found a waxer very close to my flat and didn’t return, despite always being very happy with No 74 Hair & Beauty. Life got in the way! And now its finally out of the way, my office is around the corner and we are back in love. I booked in for a few waxing services and was(thankfully) assigned to the lovely Sarah — who is not only an extremely lovely human, but did a fantastic job getting me in tip top shape with very minimal discomfort(seriously!). The space is GORGEOUS. Clean, well curated and spread over 3 floors. It’s beautifully appointed and painstakingly considered. It is a joy to walk through the door, and it gets better once you do! I will certainly return to Sarah for all my future waxing needs as well as for facials, which she also does. Brilliant, just brilliant.

I love this new local beauty salon. They’re on a cute little street spread out over 3 floors and beautifully decorated with antique furnishings but modern utensils. Got a bikini wax and it was really very painless with fantastic results. The lady who helped me was soooo friendly and nice and explained everything to me so that I knew exactly what to expect. Definitely going to come back.

Went there for a hair treatment so only reviewing that service and the general vibe. General — really cute, clean, peaceful place with lots of natural light. It almost feels like a private pamper room upstairs(especially if it’s not too busy) as the whole salon is divided over several floors. Staff — friendly(but not intrusive), greatly skilled, polite, efficient and gentle. Price — actually quite good and reasonable, not overpriced at all. I had a great experience there and I’m definitely planning on making it my new beauty spot. A good match for me. Highly recommended if you like fuss free, cosy salon with great result and nice people.

This place is amazing. Tucked away on quaint Compton street, it stands out to be a luxurious oasis within the city. Renata is the best at giving Brazilian waxes and I will only go to her while living in London. They treat you so well at this salon that you feel like a guest in someone’s very lovely home. Their services are reasonably priced and their customer service is outstanding!

Love this place, best in the area by a long run — i’d even say better than most west end salons as the staff are genuine and friendly as well as being really skilled. They’ve won several awards but cant remember which ones. Lovely space to get hair, nails(I get the shellac gels), waxing /facials done. AND their SP product recommendations have truly slowed my thyroid caused hair loss. Absolutly deserve 5 stars.

This is my favourite hair salon in London. I’ve had three consecutive perfect hair cuts at No. 74, by the owner Martin Riechelt who is so skilled and lovely. The salon itself it just beautiful, you leave feeling very posh and pampered, with a spring in your step. The pricing is surprisingly reasonable as well. Highly recommend.

The best waxing in east London, all in a cute salon with friendly staff. I tried many salons in London but this is now the only place I go for my Brazilian. It’s fast, relatively pain-free and the lotions/potions they use smell divine.

Good news! Add another terrific indi shop to Clerkenwell’s already growing list! I recently paid a visit to this hairdresser’s and was very pleased with the experience and my hair cut. Upon popping in, I met the shop’s friendly and eager-to-show-off-his-place(rightfully so), Martin Reichelt. The shop is in the heart of Clerkenwell and is set up on three floors, the first two of which are dedicated to hair care and the topmost floor is an oasis of tranquillity for beauty treatments. The shop is beautifully decorated with oversized botanical print wallpaper, leather chairs and bright, but not harsh lighting. Martin suggested I see one of his stylists, Seval. The appointment went smoothly I didn’t have to wait for a second to be seen. Seval was friendly and warm, but not overly chatty(I always worry that if I talk too much to a hair stylist, s/he’ll get distracted and butcher my hair do you feel that way too?). Seval did a great job and I like the hair cut even more after a few days. The haircut cost £48. I would definitely return and happy to see this new addition to the neighbourhood.
