History

Established in 2009.

NextShoot was founded by Dominic Sutherland and Mike MacNamara to serve the growing needs of companies looking to produce ever increasing amounts of online video advertising and editorial content.

Our first major in-​roads were into the listings and directories industry. In our first year of business we produced over 8500 videos for clients across the UK.

We have a network of over 1000 filmmakers and voiceover artists across the UK and Europe.

We have continued to grow by delivery cutting edge creative executions and providing sustainability to our clients looking to produce content regularly and at scale for themselves and their advertisers.

In December 2011, NextShoot announced a technology partnership with Brightcove, the leading online video platform, to help deliver innovative creative solutions to their clients across Europe.

Meet the Business Owner

Dominic S.

Business Owner

Dominic Sutherland is Managing Director of NextShoot.

After studying History and Literature at the University of Edinburgh, Dominic worked in traditional broadcast. He joined the BBC in 2001, where he worked in the History Unit making documentaries. Dominic produced and directed numerous films for the BBC.

In 2005 he won the Grierson Prize for his role as director on the landmark production Auschwitz, the Nazis & the ‘Final Solution’, a six-​part series examining the decision-​making process behind the Holocaust.

Dominic left the BBC to set up NextShoot in 2009 with video content management expert, Mike MacNamara.

Mike graduated from the University of Edinburgh with an MA Joint Honours in 1996. Since then he has worked in Publishing and Design for a range of global clients. Most recently he has developed a video content management system and work to deliver video rich sites for clients like BlackRock, iShares, Mitel, Wilmington, Informa and UPS.
