Good place to go for drinks, food as well but the kitchen closes early. The food was good. A variety of drinks. Staff is friendly. There’s a mini jukebox if you want to play music. Overall loud, everyone is talking amongst themselves at their table as expected in a pub. There’s seating indoors and picnic tables outside. It is right next door to the Wardonia hotel. Down the street from Kings cross st Pancras station.

Interior reminiscent of a Blackpool guest house circa 1981. However, cracking little pub with small selection of ales on tap and funky tunes on the jukebox — Hendrix, Heaven17, 60s rock n roll anyone?

Another great little pub off the beaten track. Nice warm feel inside. Friendly bar staff. Not a massive choice of real ales but a few to choose from. Good music on the olé juke box. Lead us not into temptation…

Very nice pub hidden in the streets around Kings Cross, but worth to find it. Guinness is at average price and the room is cosy with a nice bar and enough space. The kitchen closes at 9, so we couldn’t check it out.

Also ab rein!

I live 0.5 blocks away and I really enjoy this old fashioned pub. The outside area is the best. Extremely quiet neighborhood and its lovely to sit outside when it is not raining.

I’m almost surprised that nobody else has reviewed this place, but then the regular clientele do not seem likely to use Unilocal. This is a fairly typical pub but with lower food prices than all the places over on Marchmont Street. Mostly local, busy after work, but with a strong contingent of Irish ex-pats. Between 5 and 6:30 one evening I heard accents from Down, Donegal, Cork, and Dublin, plus all the native Londoners who work nearby. The food is the usual fare, in theory the dining room is in the back but they’ll let you eat out in the pub area or at the bar, especially if you’re alone. Again, prices aren’t bad: 5.50 for fish & chips, compare to 8 or 9 at the pubs in Marchmont Street. Decent quality. Those are takeaway prices for Bloomsbury, but McGlynn’s is just enough off the beaten path yet within a busy area. If you’re not local(and I am certainly not local, just research work over the summer) you might get some funny looks, but the regulars were nice enough once I joined in the conversations; that night there was some debate over whether Midsummer’s night was the same as the Solstice(it’s not!)

I don’t hang out in King’s Cross a lot, but on those occasions I have I’ve found it difficult to find a nice pub. McGlynn’s might be it, though. It’s tucked just a few steps away down a side street. You can’t see it from the major streets nearby, so it must get very little passer-by traffic. The buildings, cobbled pathways, and greenery make it feel surprisingly village pub-y for a place that’s so close to the bustle of King’s Cross. Inside isn’t fancy, but it’s more old-school no-frills pub. There are a few tables in the front room(with gentlemen who appeared to be regulars), a long bar, and a dining room in the back. Prices were pretty reasonable(£2.40 for a pint of ale in zone 1 isn’t to be sneezed at; there were signs for Sunday roasts under £7, and curry plus a pint from 6−8pm early in the week for £6.50, I think). I sat outside at one of several tables, as were most of the apparent non-regulars. Given the charming neighbourhood this is the nicer option, I think. Even though it was 6:30pm on a Tuesday it was not filled with the after-work crowd.
