Amazing décor and great selection of cocktails. Fun lovely and vibrant venue with great atmosphere. The only downside is the staff who can be quite rude and slow at service which can grow frustrating as you can only order drinks by table service.

Decadently decorated — check out the chandeliers! Charming and competent staff. Great cocktail list. I had the Helsinki Syndrome — my favourite — and the Blood Diamond — über, über sweet! Loved the atmosphere, the ornate décor and the 2 drinks for £12 happy hour offer. I’ll be back here again.

I wasn’t too sure about Loungelover when we got there and it was completely closed up(we got there a few minutes before opening). But then they opened, the doors, and we were let inside. It was Saturday at 5 pm, and surprise: They do happy hour on Saturday! Two starred drinks for £12(I think, I dunno I got really drunk). The venue is definitely loungey. Big sofas, small stools, weird tables, and hot servers. What could be better? They had a winter drink thing going on. And the drinks are definitely named provocatively. I mean, it’s always better when you can look at the very cute server and drunkenly say, «Can you give me a Golden Shower and an Egg Snog?» Because that’s what I ordered with my first round of cheap happy hour drinks. And they were good. I usually don’t care for sweet drinks, but I do love egg nog, so that was right up my street. And the Golden Shower was delicious as well. We were really tempted to cancel our reservation across the street, but we stupidly left this wonderful place. I definitely want to come back here and try a lot of their other drinks. Huzzah for Loungelover!

How have I not reviewed this place? Maybe because the only other time I’d been here was on a miserable date with someone who didn’t want to pay £9.50 for a cocktail. Whatever, I went as a singleton this time and bought my own damned drinks. F-Yeah! We arrived before the place even opened, planning on taking advantage of their 2 for £12 happy hour offer. The shutters were down, the neon was and we were a bit concerned. But then the heavens opened by way of the shutters cranking to life and we were soon in! The best part about this place beyond the questionable Oriental décor are the names of the cocktails. Someone had a good time penning the menu. Order a Golden Shower or a Happy Ending, maybe Just a Little Fling or Cum on my Face. ok I made that last one up. I ordered the Jubliation and the Orchard Breeze, both very sugary, citrusy and a little forgettable. The Golden Shower was quite a punch in the face and very much a grown ups drink. I loved the Egg Snogg, very creamy and decadent. And the Rocking Horse was delicious, like a boozy milkshake. If you’re around Shoreditch at 5pm any day, just pop in here, happy hour till 8pm!

This place has some of the most best cocktails around! I am one of those people that doesn’t like cocktails that don’t taste of the ingredients listed, maybe my tongue isn’t sensitive enough. But the cocktails here gave me no chance to complain– both my drinks were very intense in the flavours, I could taste most of the ingredients and ofcourse they were presented beautifully too. To add to this, the place had some of the most interesting décor– from a stuffed animal head to a doll house to crystal chandeliers! Plus the location was great– 2 mins walk from the Shoreditch high street station! Take a date there if you’re trying to impress:)

Great décor, but shame about everything else. Long cocktail list but out of the different ones ordered between myself and 4 friends, none were nice and when we complained, we were not given any solution. It’s not difficult to get a basic mojito right, but they struggled.

This place seems pretty perfect for what I expect out of a cocktail bar. It’s cute, out of the way, with eclectic décor and a wide range of cocktails using good quality spirits. They have promotions on until 8pm(2 for £12) and all day on Monday. We only stopped in for one right as it opened, but I can see this place has potential for future visits! Perhaps my favourite bit is the fact that it’s a seated venue with table service(no service at the bar at all) which means you have a seat without fail and you won’t have compete for attention or space. And they make good popcorn!

Fantastically quirky and utterly unique cocktail lounge tucked away in a defunct meatpacking factory. Think David LaChapelle’s kitsch pop surrealism when it comes to imagining the scene. It features different sections all with diverse themes including the Gold Room, Baroque and the amusingly/unsettlingly named ‘The Cage’. The cocktail menu is creative and lengthy but not cheap at around £10-£15 a drink. This is a truly inimitable bar, unlike any other and necessitates a visit(preferably with your inner Diva hauled out for the night).

Very hip and mixed w/a great staff. The bartender was all smiles and quick. I ordered a Gin Buck and he didn’t even flinch. The management was floating around and checking with all of the guests. That was nice at a cocktail bar. Nicely done. This place is large and has great music. It’s a few hundred meters from Shoreditch Highstreet Station. Great vibe. Don’t half step. Enter from the back entrance(by the DJ) for a more chill vibe/entrance.

So nice, my friend and I went twice… in ONE evening. I went for the 1st(and 2nd) time today and I absolutely loved it. My friend and I were walking through Redchurch and got suckered into the«2 cocktails for $ 12» special they have until 8pm daily(and all day Monday, which is when I went). I literally said«Oh s**t» once I entered. It’s difficult to explain the place– think Tokyo, zen, bazaars, and maybe five different design periods all in one place full of oddities. From a large, subtropcial arboretum at the main entrance to an intimidating taxidermy hippo head jutting from a Victorian façade, you have no choice but to be transported into Loungelover’s bizarre and undeniably sexy world. I understand the music is more«up-to-date» on the busy weekend nights, but I experienced Loungelover playing– well– lounge music, harkening back to the global lounge/Morcheeba mid-90’s era. What about the cocktails? Honestly, some of the best I’ve had anywhere. For £6 each with their special, these innovative craft cocktails have to be one of the greatest deals in the city. My friend and I had: Pear Shaped Honey– vodka, chatreuse, pear, rosemary, lemon, sugar Luscious Lover– tequila, lemoncello, redcurrent, egg white, rhubarb bitters First Crush– King’s Ginger, rum, fennel-infused syrup, kumquats, orange bitters Just a little fling– gin and sake with pink grapefruit and pink pepper All were great, the ‘Luscious Lover’ was the weakest link, but the ‘Just a little fling’ blewwww our minds. I don’t like grapefruit at all, and a sake cocktail sounds peculiar at best, but it was gobsmackingly delicious– and nothing like you’d expect it to taste. Ambiance, music, service, amazing drinks, AND good value? Loungelover, you’ve easily won my London Bar Hall of Fame. Tip: This is much more suited for groups. Book early if you’re coming on weekends!

One thing the interior is not– easily overlooked. It seemed a bit gaudy in my opinion. It offers a plethora of love related cocktails(e.g. desire, loverboy, etc.) and some less ridiculous sounding cocktails as well. I ordered a Tobacco and chocolate old fashioned, which I liked. It was bourbon laced with chocolate and tobacco. If you can get past — or love the interior– you’ll see it offers several comfortable places to relax with your mates or a date. I still don’t know how i feel about this place. I will safely give it a three star rating. That said– I can easily see it rating higher for those who are into this scene.

Lounge lover is the bar owned by les trois garçon. I had never been before because I assumed it would be a pricey affair having looked at the prices for the restaurant they are tucked behind. We turned up on a Saturday night with no reservation to get a drink before hitting the aubin cinema over the road. I have to say, seating you(or walking you to the bar space if they have no tables) is not in any way efficient. The hostess walks you backwards and forwards taking lots of time. If you’re in a rush for a dinner reservation then this could be incredibly frustrating. We didn’t have reservations so didn’t mind but some people turned up on time and waited 10 mins! Regardless, once we were positioned in the bar we waited for someone to take our order. Both cocktails we chose were long and delicious and as we sipped away we admired the really fantastic décor and appreciated why people have often raved about this place. Cocktails were under a tenner but only just. Service is included in your bill and the toilets are like posh portaloos by the entrance. It’s not perfect but it’s a nice place for one drink before you need to move on elsewhere. Reservations recommended if standing in a crowded bar area is not your thing.

I have been here twice now, the first time for a friends birthday and was so impressed I just had to come again! The cocktails are amazing and have a huge selection, there’s no queuing at the bar even if you don’t have a table as they have a waiter service for everyone. I love the décor as well, I noticed a few pieces of recycled iron made into lighting pieces. I would definitely recommend booking a table if you’re coming here as you can just relax but standing is good as well, there’s a small standing area next to the bar but it wasn’t too busy at 10.30 on a Saturday night. One of my favourite places for a great cocktail in Shoreditch.

the £12 for 2 cocktails have definitely caught my sweet tooth while ordering their drinks before 8PM here. would recommend Thai Breaker, Rock Candy and Chocolate Mistress. Feels like people who come here come in small groups, and the settings are loungey(duh) aka lots of sofas and round tables, making those who are finding just a two seaters a bit harder. But anyway, tons of fun cocktails to sip on to, liquid dinner? bon appetit~

Really cool and laid back cocktail place hidden in Shoreditch. It has somewhat of an Asian inspired décor. As the place is quite long and narrow, it has several sections. Closer to the entrance, it is great for larger group to have afterwork drinkers. As you walk all the way to the back, there are several coach areas perfect for smaller groups. The drink menu quite big and is sectioned by different kinds of love: hot lover, first love, sweeties etc. Every cocktail has a cute name and great taste to go with it. It is a perfect place to chill and hang out with friends.

— eye-catching bar located in Shoreditch — friendly staff(not too speedy in taking orders, but still ok) — design with different lighting(chandeliers, etc.) and lots of decoration(glitter antlers, etc.) — large variety of nonstandard cocktails(with names like Orchard breeze, Jubilation, Happy Endings, Lady Marmalade, etc.); spicy cocktails, many sweet ones, some sour ones(I liked the Orchard Breeze with Gin, cucumber, mint, green apple and the Jubilation with Gin, green and red grapes, elderflower, lemon and rose champagne very much) — prices between 8 and 10GBP per cocktail Conclusion: The design of the bar is really great therefore I would definitively come back to enjoy those special cocktails!

Is this the proper Shoredich? No doubt is a cool place, the restaurant is a location very well decorated, It is no massive but it has space enough to have drinks or have dinner without claustrophobia feeling. I went to this place because of somebody told they had an amazing sushi but you should take into consideration that the Menu changes often. The food is nice but in my humble opinion is place for soft dinners and put the attention into the drinks.

This place is so dated and is trying too hard and the ambiance is a bit dot-com hey day-esque? That being said some of the cocktails are superb(although they come with oodles of ice) and if you get there at 7pm on a Friday you can sit at the bar and enjoy some cocktails without a problem. The circular tables are nice(I assume they must be booked and you need to buy food) but are great for a night out with friends.

We had pre-dinner cocktails here and loved it ! The setting is very unique with some amazing ornaments and chandeliers. The cocktail list is extensive and the drinks were well prepared. Service was good too. Worth booking a seat if you plan to go.

Situated in a shady backstreet of Shoreditch, when you walk into this bar its like wondering into Aladdin’s cave with its ginormous antique oriental vases and the scent of rose incense hits you. The boyfriend & I rocked up to this reservation only venue for some cocktails and nibbles at 7pm, at which time it was nice and quiet. This meant of course lavish attention and impeccable service. The host took my coat and the waitress let us ponder for ample time over which of the delicious cocktails to try first. There was so much choice, something for everyone. I loved the Japanese Rocking Horse — a sake based cocktail with beautiful sweet and sour flavours. We had a voucher from mycitydeal which entitled us to 2 cocktails and £24 work of food. We ordered 5 dishes(Korroke, assorted sushi, Pork Katsu, and spring rolls) The food came promptly and was surprisingly filling. I was dubious about the sushi, it being a bar and all, but it was well prepared, fresh and tasty. My only quibble was not enough wasabi! I loved the décor in the bar, uberkitsch and kooky, with a mishmash of baroque/oriental/librarian styles. We were sat in a corner by the bizarre anatomy posters on not the comfiest of chairs(they should really have had sofas) and a coffee table that was too low for eating off of realy. The lighting was just right, dim enough to give you that intimate feel yet not so dark that you couldn’t see what you were eating/drinking. It definitely lived up to my expectations(yes Jack, for once, i did have some!) Yes it is expensive given the times, but I’d pay that much for a cocktail in Soho and yes you do have to share tables, but i think that could add to the fun on a fri/sat night. On a date not ideal. I think it’s the perfect spot for a night out on the tiles with the girlies — can’t wait to go back!
