DELICIOUS and not expensive especially by London’s standards. Great music, excellent entrees, drinks, and desserts. The service was a little slow especially at the end but the food made up for it

I visited this place to have an Italian mood while watching the Champions League final between Juventus and Barcelona. It was a great idea. The atmosphere was terrific, with Italians going crazy every time Juventus had the ball. Despite they lost the game, the place never lost its good vibe. Best of all, the food, of course. Quattro Formaggi pizza was the best I ever had outside Italy. Really, really good properly thin pizza. The Tiramisu was not that good, that’s why it’s just 4 stars for me. But I’m definitely going back soon. The bill was around 30 quid for two people, including starters, main dishes, dessert and coffee. So, it’s also cheap.

This is a great little Italian that you could easily miss on Walworth Road. Definitely recommend going although it’s nothing fancy, just good, hearty sized portions, friendly service and reasonable prices. As I live locally I normally call, order my food then walk down to pick it up. They’re really quick with making the food so I rarely have to wait around.

I visited London for the first time for my birthday and visited this restaurant. As soon as we walked in, we felt like we were at home! Everyone was so welcoming and patient as we were indecisive about what we would order. The smell was intoxicating and the food was absolutely delicious! Delicious! The care and detail that all of the staff put into everything that they did was refreshing and made me appreciate it even more. This place is highly recommended and I can’t wait to return!

Great to see a good pizzeria at a reasonable price! As a bit of a pizza snob(I can’t help it, I’m from New Jersey), most places tend to disappoint me, but not La Luna! The pizza I ate included tomato, mozzarella, goats cheese, courgette, and aubergine and it was divine and less than 8 quid! Even kept a little to take home. My mom’s calzone was very good she said — filled with cheese and sauce and meats and mushrooms. Sounds yummy to me! Service is good, and it wasn’t too busy for a Saturday lunch time. I wish I had come here earlier because I’ve obviously missed out on really good pizza in Camberwell!

This place is outstanding. Coming from a guy who has lived here for 10 years. Antonio the owner is outstanding. His staff are like family. Especially when a three year old is around. The specials are the ones to look out. Note this is some insider information: if you want an outstanding pizza go for the Pizza with buffalo mozerella with basil. This one uses mozerella from Italy and it’s done within a few hours. Better to call and make sure that’s in the menu. Honestly I had the prawns with vegetables today and this just touched the heart! Love this place

Had the pizza, great price, great service, great food!
This is the best Italian restaurant in South London area. Lovely staff, food is delicious and great atmosphere, prices very fair. I always recommend La Luna to all my friends. La Luna RULES! Karolina.
I always said really good Italian eats, are in restaurants that aren’t posh! If I see a trendy looking Italian restaurant, 9 times out of 10 the staff are Polish or Mexican. My grandparents are Italian, so I know good authentic Italian! I used to come here over 10 years ago when I had a boyfriend that lived in the area. We used to eat here all the time. That was a long time ago and I assumed without thinking like all restaurants, it would be close. I always did enjoy the pasta here. Now I live in the area, to my surprise, it’s still here! yay! The food is still lovely! The service is still awesome! I’ll choose this place over a posh west end Italian dump any day! And i usually don’t like eating Italian out. Nobody cooks as good as grandma!

Great food, friendly service, lovely atmosphere. Feels a mile away from the busy Walworth rd when you are inside. A real gem

For good, honest food on Walworth Road and surrounds, you really cannot do much better. The pizza is really good. The staff are friendly and attentive. And although it is true, the décor ain’t The Ivy, take a look around you — you’re in Walworth, what the hell did you expect?!?

Great place… Okay it does not look swanky but hey look at the location and the price of the food! Great family place and exceptionally good for the price you pay!

La Luna is our substitute for a Pizzeria Castello that closed in 2007 although it doesn’t live up the same quality. We went there twice and were satisfied with it. On both times one of us had a pizza, and the other a pasta dish with wine one time and beer the other time. The pizzas are a bit rustic with large toppings sloppily thrown on it but it is oven baked and thin-crust. The pasta dishes were hot and nice. We also had tiramisu which was a bit too dry without any liquor in it. The restaurant plays Italian channels on its large screen TV, one day it was Italian football and the other day we saw San Remo music festival. The owners are a couple of brothers from the south of Italy, although a young english waitress spoiled the atmosphere as she didn’t know anything about Italian cuisine.

Back in the dark days when i lived in virtual squalor in elephant and Castle, this place was one of my saving graces. Ok, so it’s a bit rough around the edges, and the food isn’t of the highest quality, but on a road where the only other options for food are generic greasy take aways, then this is a nice local business. The interior is small and cosy, with tables packed in to accommodate the locals. The staff are really friendly and will make food according to your specification if you want to jiggle the ingredients around. They do a great veggie pasta sauce with aubergines and courgette, and their pizzas are pretty good.

Although being a cut above big chain pizza houses such as Pizza Hut, or Domino’s, La Luna just doesn’t do it for me. The exterior is fake and plasticky, and the interior seems to be more at home within the awkwardness of a David Lynch film; not fitting for an Italian restaurant. The pizza toppings(aside from the rocket and parma ham) are clumsily put together and ill-considered, and the pizzas themselves narrowly fall short of being sloppy in texture. I feel bad for saying these things, La Luna being a small independent business, but given the price range of £6 — £8 per pizza, it seems a shame to spend your money here instead of travelling a little further to find a better Pizza for the same price– if not cheaper. Although I know people who have enjoyed the food here; the service is nice and friendly; and you can get quite a good coffee in the context of the area(and you get a free garlic bread when you spend over £10 on a take-out), it makes me a little sad that La Luna isn’t better. It’s got all the building blocks to potentially be fantastic, but in my opinion, it wouldn’t go amiss to give it a «Gordon Ramsay» treatment.

I’ve been visiting La Luna for Italian food for years. The menu is extensive, with various pizzas and pastas and some meat. fish dishes. Prices are very reasonable with main courses starting from about £5.50-£13. I usually get the Ceaser bread for starters(freshly baked bread with garlic and melted cheese on top), followed by my favourite dish — the seafood risotto which comes with ample seafood(mussels, clams, prawns, shrimps, baby octupus, squid etc). Last week, my friend got the salmon in lobster sauce and it seriously was the moistest piece of salmon I had eaten for a long time. The portions are more than generous. There is a great selection of desserts too, with a home-made tiramasu that is to die for! Try the banoffee pie as well, a bit rich but I love it. The staff are friendly and attentive and if you’re nearby and too lazy to cook you can order a takeaway, where any two pizza or pasta dishes ordered will get you a free portion of garlic bread. I really recommend this restaurant and am proud to call this my local Italian.
