We manufacture purpose made stairs in timber individually designed to fit the space available, curved flights no problem, whacky ideas just try us. Why not make an appointment to visit our showroom where our experienced team will guide you through the process. Loft stairs are made to match existing if required. A site survey and installation are an option within the greater London area. We also import spiral stairs from Italy in timber and steel.

History

Established in 1931.

The second generation Higginsons sold the company in 1981 whilst in Mill Hill, the new owners expanded the business and moved to Colindale in 1985 into larger premises. The company manufactured general joinery until about 1999 then made the decision to specialise in stairs. Still family run we our proud of our reputation, trainee achievements and innovative ideas. We are long standing and active members of the British Woodworking Federation, one of our directors currently is President. On the technical front we are involved at BSI and have provided a stair expert to represent the UK in European committees.

Excitement reigns at Higginson after a year of putting together a superb new website, the whole team has contributed in between their normal daily commitments. Operating a stair manufacturing company is like riding on a fast conveyor belt, meeting deadlines is never easy. Heading a technical business is a challenge and I am proud of the reputation my company has achieved over the years. We can say with complete honesty that we are the absolute best in the timber stair market.
