This place does my favourite Lahmacun in the area. Always cooked fresh and insanely cheap. I always think they give it me cheaper than what it says on the menu. They also serve it up with a great salad, either in it or as a side in a box. Can’t complain, but be prepared to wait 5 – 10 minutes as it is always fresh, it’s worth it so get two of them.(Visit — 13/08/2015 Dinner)

I have been trying Turkish restaurant with my boyfriend for a while now, as we are big fans, and this is definitely the best one! Amazing and fresh food, fresh salad, the way they have to put the bread on the grill makes it taste amazing… I love everything. The staff is friendly and very kind, and the prices great. Really good portions too. I love it, is my favourite! Definitely worht a visit, you won’t be disappointed!

What makes this restaurant more special than others in Green Lanes is Adana kebab. It is hard to beat them. If you like wrap try it with onion salad. Yummy! I also tried soups but I will stick with the kebab.

For the longest while this was my favourite Turkish kebab house in London. I’m reviewing the TAKE-AWAY. In the last 6 to 9 months the food here has really gone down hill. I used to have to forcibly limit myself to one visit a week on health grounds but now I find myself drifting away. Yes the prices have gone up yes the portions have become smaller but my real beef with this place is the sloppiness in the way the food is prepared and served. On my last visit 28th september 2012 I ordered a large lamb kebab in a box. First thing you notice is that the meat on main kebab looks like its made from actual bits of meat rather than the more usual meat ‘pulp’ thats probably mostly whipped fat. The sever got a foil container in which he covered the base with some well cooked buttered rice. He then sliced bits from the well done areas of the rotating kebab meaning a nice crispy outer and a soft juicy layer underneath… yum! Next was 2 generous dollops of a tomato based chilli sauce into another foil container which can only be described as chilli perfection! A lovely and full of tomato taste chilli with just the right amount of chilli to complement the meat. Too many other places chilli taste synthetic and way way too hot which means all you can taste is the burning hot chilli. So far so good but then it all started to go wrong… he placed a ½ tomato that had been grilled over the charcoal in with the meat and rice. Unfortunately for not long enough as the centre bit tasted a touch under cooked and it was also only barely warm i.e. not particularly nice. The pepper although well cooked again was only luke warm. :(Next in my opinion he cut off a stingy chunk of flat bread. In the past this would have spent some time over the charcoal grill giving it a lovely warm almost toasty texture to which a layer of butter or better meat juices where rubbed. This time I got none of it and it was just warmed bread. Next a dollop of Tzatziki(Yogurt with cucumber) into a foil container. O. K but straight from the fridge! Lastly came a foil container of salad. Again this was a disappointment! The salad consisted of cucumber, tomato, onion. cabbage(from memory) with a wedge of lemon on the side. The pieces in my view were cut too large and there was very little flavour to them despite having some olive oil added. I used to like to mop up the salad juices with the bread but there weren’t any! :( Conclusion. A year ago this place was a SOLID5 stars today in remembrance of what there capable of I’ve given a 4 star review but in fairness if this had been my first visit it would have got 3 or maybe even a 2 star rating. Everything is there to produce a great meal but they seem to have stopped caring. I still see the man who used to serve me but now he appears to be a supervisor and they’ve got some trainees into cover him. Who knows I hope it improves as I’ve already been looking around at alternatives At the time of writing a large Lamb Kebab in a box cost £8 for takeaway.

Surprised this place hasn’t been reviewed yet! Very busy, good food. You get lovely bread before your food comes out as well. I had the Lamb shish and rice. Yummy. Although I did almost cry when I ordered Baklava for dessert and they said they’d run out!

Oxford boasts the legenday Bodrum, but what’s the best(affordable) Turkish restaurant in the capital? Diyarbakir, named after the gastronomically-famed city in Eastern Anatolia, has to be a leading contender. We visited for iftar during Ramadan and sure enough it was packed to the rafters. The décor is more contemporary, clean, and stylish as opposed to traditional, warm, and inviting but is nice in its own understated Turkish sense, with some tasteful ‘faux-exposed brickwork.‘ I ordered the Yoghurt Kebab(with shish rather than doner lamb) while my wife went for something more traditional. We also went for the famous Lahmacuns. To get to the point, everything was absolutely perfect, sending jolts of taste-sensation throughout my mortal form. The fact that food this good is available at kebab-shop prices means you simply must give Diyarbakir a go. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is that since I was fasting, I may have thought it sublime when in fact it was merely very good. A return visit looms on the horizon, like a great sea monster having just surfaced, promising to squash ancient Alexandria in an orgy of senseless destruction and carnage.
