Dial Restaurant and Bar

Ok, so we saw a sign outside «Happy Hour Daily». Went in, ordered drinks and apparently it’s not applicable for weekends?! We enquired and apparently it’s a mistake, so why keep the sign up? False advertising I am afraid.
Luckily after complaining, we received 50% off the cocktails.
Waiting staff don’t write down your order but try to remember it, well he kept coming back for us to repeat out order… Sigh.
I am afraid we saw lots of mums bring their less than 10 year old daughters drinking mocktails — Sorry but I do not agree with this practice and its teaching your kids to be too old too fast. Taking pictures with your teddy bear drinking a fake mojito… great parenting!
Interior was nice and stylish but staf lacked knowledge and avoid the Blackberry Sling — too sour!

The food, service and atmosphere here was absolutely great, our waiter had helpfully explained about the different wines and cheese selection It was absolutely delicious, the best combination for my taste I had had in a long time

I took my partner here for valentines day. Although the main course was tasty, the starter was cold and the dessert took over 50 minutes to come. This was despite repeated questions as to where it was. They seemed to have one ice bucket for the entire restaurant which is a big mistake on valentines day. Quite a few couples got up and left without paying and many other couples complained — one table had been there for an hour and ten minutes and had not even had their order taken.
This was a set menu day, supposedly bookings only but they could just not get the service right. Tables were left uncleared and food never seemed to come out of the kitchen.
Oh and they took our coats when we came in, but had forgtotten where we put them, so we had to go into the cloak room and find them ourselves Great.
We refused to pay the service charge on a bill that was over £100 (for two people). Avoid.

We went to Dial quite recently as part of a pre-​packaged deal. The meal was already paid for as part of the package and consisted of two courses. I believe this is normally around £20 per head.
The food was good but the service was very slow. I got the impression that we were a bit second class due to everything being pre-​paid. The main course was tiny and the deserts were ok. I was still hungry when we eventually came out of the restaurant (I had some pizza in Leicester Sq)
We had a few drinks, soft drinks were quite expensive but the wine and beer was ok.
Overall I would summarise it as being a place to go if you have plenty of time and are not hungry. The food when it came was delightful, just a shame there was not more of it.

I went here Friday (23^rd) and really enjoyed our pre theatre 2 course meal. I never heard of Dial before but it was part of the deluxe theatre package that we had through Virgin Experience Days.
The décor is really nice and it is quite posh in a trendy kind of way. Our food was already paid for so we got to choose from 2 of the three course (which should cost £20).
I had Eggs Benedict and then pork with mash and cabbage in a red wine sauce. My partner had mushroom barley risotto followed by pollock wrapped in palma ham and sundried tomato pasta. Both of which was really nice.
We ordered a bottle of Rose and Still water — the wine was about £25.
The reason for my 3* is that although we had good quick service through out the meal, it took ½ hour to get our bill though we had asked for it 3 times which meant we had less time between the theatre and finishing our meal.
I would definitely recommend trying here for a special occasions.

The experience I have got from Dial is that it is one of those central wanna be places that lacks soul and atmosphere. I have visited the place only for drinks so I can’t comment how is the restaurant side, but the bar did not impress me.
The place has a nice location in the middle of Covent Garden and with a nice view from windows. The place is very relaxed with nice sofas and a dark toned decoration. Everything is very clean and plain with table service. We got our table front of the main door and it was freezing cold when people kept coming in and out. The staff was nice but closer to the closing time they were really trying their best to remain us what time it was and we really felt we were pushed out!
I can imagine the place is all right option to go after work, but other than that I would never plan to spend an evening there. Too boring.

I love the Dial Bar, It’s one of those places where you can really relax and get treated as if you are someone important. The service is always excellent and the staff are polite and attentive, I like to go there on a Sunday afternoon after shopping and once the barman asked me if it was OK to turn the lights down for the evening. A great range of food and drinks as well.

The Dial bar is part of the Radisson Edwardian hotel on Seven Dials in Covent Garden; I had been there a couple of years ago for tea — which was fine. Today I met a friend for drinks — and it more faulty towers than 5 star hotel standard.
They do not have any fresh fruit juices; do not have small bottles of sparkling water (only very large ones, which by the way are not sparking) and one of our glasses was broken.
Coffee was… well…not coffee.
Shame because the place is brilliant for location, has a great seating area and lovely décor. It would be perfect for informal business meetings if only they got it right…
