Fantastic, chilled out little pub, that feels well off of the beaten track but is within reasonable distance of Hammersmith. Step inside and be greeted by warm wooden panels, and venture to the back for large wooden tables, patricians and a cozy atmosphere. I like the atmosphere, that’s the main attraction, because they don’t really have a very good selection of drinks. However if you want a nice ‘country’ pub chilled out drink with friends, then this should be on your list. They also have a function room that can be hired, so it’s worth checking this out and I have heard that the catering is very good.

This is our work local, so I’ve spent more time than I care to admit at the Keys. The best part by far is the«barn» out back, which you can reserve for big groups and parties. The barn is cozy, heated and has an iPod dock so you can play whatever music you like. They have a good selection of drinks and do a wine happy hour before 7pm. There’s also a great patio should it be nice enough to sit outside. The Cross Keys also has a good selection of snacks. The hummus is great, the chips are good… and there are any variety of crisps you can imagine. If you have a reason to be nearby, the Cross Keys is a good local stop.

I absolutely HAVE to review this pub because i think it is a fantastic place and as i am a local i have been a few times. They offer lovely ales and nice food, the inside is lovely and homely and warm(and quite big). The garden is huge and has two separate parts. One is on decking with lots of lovely flowers and plants and is the perfect place to sit in the summer after a nice walk along the river. The other part is like a courtyard with quite a few tables as well. There is another outside building which is lovely in the evening for food so this pub has a lot of space. The staff are very friendly, helpful and the barman is quite possibly the nicest person to ever work in a pub! That sounds over the top but he helped me and my friends when we were being pestered by a rather unsavoury character. Without us even saying anything, he identified the issue and defused the situation and was very kind and polite in the process. Top man! They even have a poker set and a few games if you decide your in the mood. This pub is one of my favourites in London(and i have been to many many pubs!). It deserves some recognition.

The Cross Keys is a traditional and definitely a local’s pub, I can’t remember but I am sure that it has carpets and not wooden floors and a dart board which gives you an idea of how it is. Lovely space out the back for those summer bbq’s and a proper pub feel at the front with a little bit more comfort in the middle of the pub. Fullers own this pub which again gives you an idea of how it is and the food is perfect for those relaxed, read the papers sort of nights. Nice friendly locals all seem to know each other, I guess after a few visits they might even open up a shade. Located near St Peters Sq which is super rich and a few celeb’s are usually to be found enjoying a tipple in this pub or the Carpenters Arms which is just yards away. Good, traditional pub, a bit out of the way, chilled and relaxed and homely.
