Chiswick Petcare

Everyone working at Chiswick Petcare, from reception to nurses to vets, are super friendly and have great bedside manner. Our beloved Dexter has been seeing James for nearly two years now and I can’t say enough great things about James. He seems to care a great deal about animals and is always very patient with nervous Dexter.
We’ve been through a myriad of issues with Dexter since being a client of Chiswick Petcare from the infamous «he swallowed a peach pit» to he hyperextended his wrist to routine yearly immunizations. Dexter’s carpal hyperextension injury is quite severe with surgery being the only way to permanently correct the injury. Given Dexter’s age (he was just shy of 14 at the time of injury), James provided us with all of our options and then, in not so many words, recommended against surgery. Simply put the surgery is intense involving take out part of the hip bone to implant in his wrist and then securing it all with pins and plates and the recovery time is six month. I appreciated that James did not pressure us to move forward with the surgery and was honest with his thoughts on the situation.
We opted for a quasi solution of splinting his wrist but that was short-​lived as two months into splitting and Dexter had had enough of the splint! Not having any energy to argue with a then-​14-​year-​old dog about wearing or not wearing a splint, I gave in and Dex has been running split-​free since (one year on).
I feel the prices are a bit steep at this vet (just paid £100 for annual immunizations and kennel cough) and have heard that they are higher priced than other vets in the area, however, I trust James with Dexter and that’s something I can’t put a price on. So, onwards and upwards!
