It is definitely not Chennai taste, but the restaurant had a good spread on the lunch buffet. It cost about £15 for two of us. We had a veg lunch buffet and a non-veg buffet with chicken 65. We had visited them with 2 kids and they were very accommodating. Their heater was a treat. Kept us super warm at the restaurant

Pros This is a fantastic place for authentic south indian food. We have been here a few times with the family and most of the time it is crowded. Sometimes you have to wait outside for the tables inside to clear before you get a seat. Foodwise, we love it. The south indian food is lovely and really good value for money. For a couple of quid, you can get a really decent hot meal that in not only nutritious but also fabulous tasting. Personally we will never stop going there. Cons The only downside to this restaurant is that the interior is quite cramped and it is a small space.

If you really fancy good quality and authentic India food, Chennai Dosa is the place. Things are very cheap, but they ahve a big queue. You can get veg buffet for less than £5 and non veg buffet for £6 . I have been there 7 times now . Nice for Dosa and other south Indian dishes. Brilliant preparation. but need to wait for things at times Cheers

Brilliant, cheap and cheerful and the food is great also. Dosa’s are Indian rice and lentil pancakes a bit like crepes with an Indian filling usually of spicy potato and onion, but this place offers more than just the potato and onions, you get vegetable, and other versions also. The Paper Dosa, is a massive massive sized crêpe served with 5 different types of dippings and if your hungry this is the way to go. Other food types are brill to nice range of Southern Indian food as well as Chinese varieties. This place is extremely useful in this credit crunch for a well filling vegetarian meal this is the place to go.

If you like tasty food, and you enjoy eating well for not a lot of money, do visit Chennai Dosa. It is very much an Indian version of a caff, and the seating and service is interesting, but you can forgive them anything. Why? Because you can have a great, healthy meal for less than £5, and there’s not many places that will do that in London. It’s vegetarian, and although I’m not and there are non-veg options, I stick veg when I’m there, because it is so tasty. My favourite? A chilli iddly to start(a fried dumpling served with peppers, onion and chilli) followed by a Masala Dosa, all for about £4. If there was a down side to it, it is that I didn’t understand what a lot of the menu items were — they are authentic. But I’ve enjoyed finding out.
